I am studying abroad in Dublin next semester and am interested in choosing the school where I will get the best experiences- not necessarily the toughest classes. I've been hearing UCD would be the better choice, however it is more expensive. Is it worth it? I'm looking to make friends, travel a little bit, spend a lot of time in the city centre of Dublin, possibly join a fun club, and have a great atmosphere. Overall, what would be the best experience for my money? Thanks!

A serious question would boil down to where your accommodation will be.
Student accom in Dublin is crazy at the moment.
Is this part of your arrangement?

It is part of the arrangement! I would be living on campus in "dorms" with both schools.

    ok, that's a huge relief!
There's more forums more suited here - perhaps the mods would allow you to post one on each UCd / DCU forums for feedback?

I didn't go to either, but I would reckon UCD may be the more popular with students and student life, given the size and location.

Best of luck! Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time in Dublin!

It really depends on what you're studying and what kind of college you're used to.

UCD and DCU are on opposite sides of the city and have different specialisations and advantages.

I went to DCU so I can tell you why I think it's great, someone else can add more colour for UCD hopefully.

DCU is smaller than UCD by a wide margin (but not so small either!), so it makes for better classes and community. The clubs and society life are fantastic and always busy and it's a great place to make friends.

DCU's campus is v.beautiful and located somewhere really convenient to the city (though it does have one or two rougher areas nearby, true in all cities, never been a bother to me) and UCD's campus is a bit... concrete. But it is on a beautiful side of the city so...
