    Okay, music isn't really one of my good subjects, even though I love it.

    How would you recommend studying for the listening?

    Simple, ask yourself what are you hearing.

    Features, features features.

    What instrument can I hear.
    What other instruments are playing.
    Where do I hear this instrument again.
    What is Accompanying it.
    Compositional devices (pedal note/ostinato etc)
    Tonality (major minor modal)
    Key
    Rhythmic features (syncopation, triplets, upbeat, 6/8 )
    Features common to the period it was written in (Romatic period and programme music)
    What happens next... what came before it.
    When is this theme played again, how is it different on each playing.
    Texture (Homophony/Polyphony/Monophony).
    Tempo marking.
    HArmonies
