    Which campsite is advised?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 501 ✭✭✭ChampagnePop

they should probably put some toilets in the Blue/Tangerine Fields/Boutique campsite tbf.

I assume the toilets in those campsites are exclusive to people staying there, so left off the map.

Not really as I always do the crew camping area as it exits into the woods, I'm doing two 12 hour shifts on Wed and Thurs then I'm free to party, party. I use a music angels friendz mini speaker I got it in one of the Scottish Tesco stores, Xtravision used to stock them here but now there is no Xtravision really.

Any tips for a B&S newbie?

Taking me a lot longer than I though but updated most of the main stages into Clashfinder so it works with apps and other mobile devices.

    http://clashfinder.com/s/bands2016/

I'll update the smaller stages tomorrow. Want to watch the Ireland match now.

hey just wondering are they strict on id? can't find my passport anywhere & don't have an age card and driving license so kinda freaking out a little :/

Anyone have an idea as to when they release the stage times for the Vodafone comedy tent? Can't find anything online.

Any tips for a B&S newbie?

Have a large bottle of water in the tent for every morning after. Pace yourself and don't kill yourself on the Friday night with no energy for the rest of the weekend. That's a classic newbie error. Don't worry if you miss a band. Often the ones you don't plan for are the ones you enjoy the most. Have a spare change of clean clothes in the car encase the whole tent and campsite gets flooded. It's also nice to get into clean clothes before you head home. Get lost and don't try and have everything too timetabled.

Great advice for newbies but also for people who did those mistakes the last few B&S's. Still looking for advise on best camping spot after my tent got robbed in Red area last year Sunday:)

Hows it going lads, can anyone who's been to the festival before tell me how likely this is to be enforced? Found it in the FAQ:

    EACH INDIVIDUAL IS PERMITTED:

24 X 500 ml cans of beer, cider or ready mix drinks and one 750 ml bottle of wine (decanted into a plastic bottle)

    Or

1 X 750ml bottle of spirits and one 750 ml bottle of wine (decanted into a plastic bottle)

    Or

3 bottles of wine (decanted into a plastic bottle) / or 1 X 2 litre wine box

NOTE: No alcohol permitted on Sunday day passes.

    1. This applies to all ticket holders, performers and event staff.
    2. You will be checked at point of wrist-banding.
    3. Absolutely no re-entry with alcohol once wrist-banded.
    4. Sunday ticket holders are not permitted to bring any alcohol – it will be confiscated at point of wrist-banding.

Not that I have any problem with stopping people having excessive amounts of alcohol, but I was planning on bringing a bit more than 24 cans and keeping some in the car. Will they really stop me from re-entering the fesitval with them? Was this a rule in previous years? Should I be worried about this at all?

So many questions. Looking forward to some top tunes and a cushty time all around.

Great advice for newbies but also for people who did those mistakes the last few B&S's. Still looking for advise on best camping spot after my tent got robbed in Red area last year Sunday:)

I'm open to correction but I'm fairly sure there are no good or bad camping spots in the main campsites. Scope out your neighbours as best you can and trust to luck after that. And leave nothing of value in your tent.

Yes. They're very strict about re-entry with alcohol. Any bags will be searched and you'll be patted down.

Surely this isn't going to be enforced?

    Serious? Hmmmm

I suppose I've no hope of sneaking an extra 12 cans in.

Your best bet is to try and smuggle some extra cans in first time round. Carry a crate and have a few buried in your rucksack. They were mainly looking for glass bottles last year and weren't really bothering to count exactly how much alcohol was being carried.

The problem when you re-enter is that you're filtered through a different gate and all they're looking for is alcohol. There's usually no queue so they've plenty of time to search you. It may be different this year of course, but that's how it was last time.

    Alright, thanks for the info!

I have a friend who doesn't drink a whole lot so I'll just saddle him with the remainder of my cans ;-)

Two of us heading. I'm a big fan of Cassy and my mates dying for Hudson Mohawke, nightmare of a clash. Is there much distance between the two stages?

    I feel your pain.

Main Stage atmosphere can be hit and miss in my experience - do people think HudMo will draw a decent crowd that late on the Saturday with Cassy on in the tent, Mother in full swing not to mention the Absolut Bar stuff??? Really want to see him but a little concerned the vibes may be lacking...

I cannot wait for Mother.. last Body & Soul was the first time I'd witnessed the Mother DJs, then when they closed Picnic. Unreal craic.

Anyone ever done the hot tubs in the sanctuary?
