Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's probably Sexton and Joe is trying to get in touch with iHumph to come down and take over.

    Fionn Carr anyone?

Fionn Carr is from Kildare and played under Joe. Typical bloody Leinster nepotism, the only reason you'd stoop so low as to suggest that.

Leinster squad may now be inaccurate too

I really hope it's Ringrose if that's the case.

This is almost as good as that day SOB gave Pape a little tap on the belly

No way. His first cap this early in his career in Paris? You mad bro'?

Picking McFadden is a waste. At least give a shot to a player who might break into the team in the future. Do we have to be so bloody conservative? If Jesse Kriel can live at international level at 20/21, why can't Ringrose?

So then why the Ulster delay if it's McFadden coming back in from Leinster? Unless they were deciding between McFadden, Marshall/McCloskey?

Not sure why we'd have Ringrose ahead of Luke Marshall tbh...

If we need a winger, lets have a winger, if we need a 'player' lets have Marshall.

Not sure how Ringrose gets ahead of either there?

    According to Gavin Cummiskey

Kearneys start. Ireland: RK; Trimble, Payne, Henshaw, DK; Sexton, Murray; McGrath, Best, White; McC, Toner; CJ, SOB, Heaslip.

Mcfadden in, zebo and earls out

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Ferg back in so Earls and Zebo are both out.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,931 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

After all that (20 minutes) speculation that's a pretty disappointing reveal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,813 ✭✭✭CMOTDibbler

McFadden on the bench. Earls and Zebo didn't make fitness test.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,536 ✭✭✭former total

    Dave Kearney AND McFadden.

    Lol.

boards will think it's under DOS attack again.

It must have been Zebo/Earls' injuries that they were looking at.

Shame to lose out on Earls again so soon.

Yeah, throw him in the deep end at the Stade de France, why not!

Ringrose can wait 'til summer depending how his season goes. He's played 9 matches with two single-digit minute sub appearances. Get off the hype train for a little while.

    Jackson back to Ulster.

Can't wait to that backrow in action. As good as any other country imo.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Joe just basically repeated that Madigan is benching because of versatility.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,931 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

I know McCloskey and Marshall aren't wingers and with Earls and Zebo both out it makes sense to call up a winger but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with McFadden getting the call up.

He's done nothing of note at Leinster this season bar get himself in trouble a few times. I would hope if Earls and/or Zebo are long term doubts we'd be looking at calling in someone else during the week off.

    McFadden on the bench? Yikes
Prefer to have seen Marshall involved.

Excited about the backrow... not about the back 3.

When they are playing three tests in South Africa?! That's not much easier.

Any of Ringrose, Gilroy, Marshall would have been a better option than McFadden.

I wish Jackson was the backup outhalf. He has huge potential and just needs gametime at this level to improve.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,668 ✭✭✭Mahatma Geansai

Disappointing to see White retained ahead of Furlong, and Ryan should be in ahead of McCarthy.

D.Kearney/Trimble/R.Kearney with McFadden on the bench is very poor; slow and little attacking threat. Whatever about Joe's huge blindspot for Dave Kearney, McFadden shouldn't be near the Irish squad.

The backrow and half-backs are exciting at least. The rest of the side not so much.

Can't understand McFadden. What does he have that Gilroy for example doesn't have a lot more of?

    This graphic is wrong btw.

Schmidt named TOD on the bench, not Ruddock.

    Gilroy doesn't play centre?

Is there not an Emerging Ireland tour this year?

Rory Scannell has done as well as Ringrose this season I'd have thought, been one of Munster's standout players. Get a couple of ex-pro's talking him up and the hype might start.

I do think Ringrose will go on to international level, I just find 9 games + 16 mins as a sub a bit premature for consideration.

Harsh on Marmion, McFadden shouldn't be near the team, sny number of Ulster backs should be ahead of him. I'd take Ruddock over ToD, he's so much more powerful.

Both he and Earls trained today but aren't quite 100%.
