Is it possible to change from carers allowance to carers benefit??

Currently getting €180 per week carers allowance as I am carer for my son (also receiving domiciliary care allowance). DH may be receiving a promotion at work over the next couple of months & push us over the limit for carers allowance

I applied for & got voluntary redundancy in July 2015. Haven't worked since Feb 2014 - maternity leave till Aug 14; hols & parental leave till Dec 14 and carers leave till end of June 15
