I am setting up a webcam for a church and want to use a IP camera with a good microphone. I also want it to have Power over Ethernet. Can anyone recommend a good IP camera. Will I need a special Ethernet cable to use for PoE or will a standard one work.

Is this for security purposes or to broadcast religious services to many people?
Security would be easier as it's very few people accessing it infrequently.

I've never tried broadcasting a video stream to many people.
Eg. if it's a wedding or funeral, you might have a 10's/100's of people viewing it remotely.
There's a web page here which gives various options
    http://www.wikihow.com/Stream-Your-Webcam

So your question was more focused on the hardware.
But depending on where you are allowed to position the webcam, you may need optical zoom or it could be too far away for any detail at the alter.

Or the built in webcams microphone might pick up more local sounds from the nearby people, than the priest over the PA system.
It might be handy if the webcam had an external audio feed/aux in plug, and you could connect the churchs PA system into it directly.

Just a few thoughts there to start to narrow down the problem/technical issues.

There are a load of power-over-ethernet adapters available, eg. http://www.dx.com/s/poe
I bought one to try, but it didn't fit my internal IP cameras DC power input.
It may be that external cameras have a more standard DC power connector... not sure, just that internal IP cameras tend to have proprietary connectors.

Thank for you reply it will give me things to think about. I am going to get it hosted on a website https://www.angelcam.com/. Hope to have the camera close to a speaker so this should cut down on background noise. It will be close to the alter about 40 ft away. If that would be a problem, I am not sure if it is or not. Can you recommend a good IP camera to use.

Most POE cameras are external, to avoid more cabling issues with two sets of wires.

I've had 2 FOSCAM cameras in the past, for internal use.
    And they served me well.
Also tried a newly released Foscam a few years ago and had to return it, so best to get one that's tried and trusted.

I just searched for "FOSCAM POE", and it came up with this one as the first hit. But just giving an idea what's out there.

    http://www.cmac-cctv.co.uk/foscam-fi9853ep-plugplay-poe-720p-hd-external-dome-camera-999-p.asp?gclid=COqpgs6RzsgCFQ2NGwodehUKsQ

You must manually position that one, it doesn't have motorised pan and tilt, so it will point in a fixed position at the alter.
Although it doubles as a security camera too.

Maybe you want a motorized pan and tilt one, to be able to act as cameraman eg. pointing down the alter for weddings and moving the camera to the alter ? Although pan & tilt cameras tend to be jumpy/jerky to control.

I do not need pan and tilt, and want to find out if these cameras come with a builtin microphone to pick up sound. It does not say anything about it in the spec on any site I have looked at. With Poe will I needed a Ethernet power injector and is setup easy.
