I’m  considering buying a Nissan Leaf electric car in January, which would be charged over night

Would this be enough to justify in switching to day/night meter

Hi baktag,

Thanks for your message.

Generally to make a saving with the Day/Night meter, around a quarter of your usage would need to be concentrated during the night-rate period. This works out as roughly three or four units with average usage of 14 units per day (or 5,300kWh annually).

The NightSaver tariff begins from 11pm to 8am during the winter, and during the summer (until the clocks go back later this month) the night-rate hours are midnight until 9am.

More information on the Day/Night meter can be found here, however for up to date standard unit prices for a NightSaver meter please see our website here.

We hope this helps. If you have any other questions please let us know.

Thanks,
Brige
