    But enough about Joe.....

Ah in fairness he supports local business by having it printed abroad. And its not like he shamelessly promotes the bewk on the taxpayers dime.

I'm sure the families in Heidelberg were glad of it.

    The Irish Print Awards?
That would preclude those who got their bukes printed abroad, wouldn't it?

Beautiful and Incredible getting a lot of use today, i think the authors would prefer their books to be descibed as making loads of dosh so to speak

If I was at home I'd be playing the Liveline drinking game. Everytime incredible is used, I'd take a drink. At this stage in the program I'd be well on and enjoying the show more than I am now.

    Is there VAT on books?

Yes, but print books mostly rated at 0%, thanks to CJ Haughey???? I could be wrong there but that rate came in about his time.

Buy the same book digitally and it's rated at 23%

Don't ask - VAT is simple in theory but very illogical in practice.

Shocking Joe says that all those people had to leave - I wonder do their numbers include people who worked in the print industry in this country? The printers that have closed. Whose companies would like the support of Irish customers?

The wAy duffy goes on about immigration youd think it was the 1840s where people would never see each other again. Id say hes the three chislers living in fear of being kicked out of the family if they ever emigrate

He was on last week about his book being a Nr. 1 bestseller. Being the Nr. 1 non-fiction hardback bestselling book is not what I was expecting. Economical with the truth is Mr. Duffy.

Being selective about sales outlets and ratings is nothing new, though. He could legitimately claim it was the No 1 bestseller out the back door of Duffy Towers.
