Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok I think I have a plan unless someone spots a complication?

The bike should arrive next Thursday. My plan is to have the bike picked up from the port and have it dropped straight to the nct centre. Im hoping that making a booking for the Thursday is possible. Any issues there?

You need to book in your bike online for a VRT inspection.
Select the centre you want to have it done at and see if there is a spot available for the day you want.

Grand. They have 5 slots left from 08:30 to 13:45. Just need to find out when ferry docks.

Ok a question for you bike import wizards.

On the VRTVPD2 form, section 4. Price incl vat, date of sale and date of entry aint a problem but the VAT amount is causing me some concern. It states '' if the vehicle was not purchased from a private individual, please provide VAT amount details'' I have emailed the dealer but he has yet to get back to me. Should he have this info? Because im the 2nd owner is it even possible to have that VAT amount?

I have the bike and im delighted. Ill post pictures when I get a chance. I have it booked in next wed to be vrt'd.

I had the same confusion about that as you. I ended up just sticking down the name and address of the bike shop, how much i paid and no vat info and there was no issue at all. I just left the "VAT Amount * (if applicable):" box blank.

LOL, Its a nightmare. I thought the hard part would be buying the bike and having it transported. This Vrt process has me feeling like a criminal.

    Another question.

Can I VRT + TAX + Insure the bike on the same day?

Yeah. Once all your paperwork in in Order they will give you a reg number on the day. So then you can go ahead and insure it.

You can tax it online within 24 hours of the VRT being completed. Your tax online pin number will be the last 6 digits of the chassis number

The vat is an issue if new, or under 6 minths/6k kms only. Just put in the price you paid.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
