Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. I am the same, but starting to lean heavily to Vardy at the moment. Fingers crossed that the curse of Tinkerman does not strike again.

Vardy and Sanchez look the only options really. I'll probably stick with Sanchez because he's delivered for me whenever I've captained him.

Wonder how many are going to venture outside of the Vardy/Sanchez pairing not many I assume.

Sanch (c) Vardy (vc) for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

My one worry about Vardy is that he's now scored in seven consecutive games or some ridiculous stat. Surely he can't keep that going.

That said, the (c) is on him at present.

Everton lost 3-0 at home last week so my worry about Sanchez is that they'll go overly defensive against Arsenal.

Yeah same here. And should have had the balls to captain him at the week-end, especially after you showed how "benefitial" to his FPL form international breaks are :pac:.

    GIROUD

Would look elsewhere to be honest. Only way he becomes an option this week is if Theo picks up a knock during the week and is ruled out.

Would not go for him but have to say I love your username: you couldn't find a better match for what FPL is about :pac:.

Indeed. Fair to say they both have lovely bottoms.

    Sanchez or Vardy.

I know I won't have the bollocks to go with Vardy, so it'll be Alexis (C) and Vardy (VC) I'd imagine.

Sanchez or Vardy.... cant decide tbh

Sanchez after playing a draining champs league game against bayern.

    Vardy will be fresh!

    Backing off now!

They're both good options. Hopefully we don't have a Aguero/Kane situation where there's a huge difference between scores

  • Registered Users Posts: 532 ✭✭✭Arbitrary

For now Costa C Sanchez VC

Palace have been solid on the road and they haven't conceded more than a goal per game this season.

As other posters have mentioned, I fear Everton will nit it up after last weekend but Sanchez appears to be in beast mode. He failed to register any points in the same fixture last season.

WestHam have conceded 2 or more goals in all home games with the exception of Newcastle, their only CS at home. My hunch is there's a potential goal fest for this fixture so I'm sticking with Costa again.

You just gave me some nightmarish flashbacks there. I chose...poorly.

On another note, more cryptic comments from Arsene last night to muddy the waters
'Alexis? You could see he was jaded physically. He still pushes himself to much and finished exhausted. Two games with Chile, plus travelling plus Watford and tonight. It’s too much.'

    Definitely captain Sanchez so.

    Sanchez or Vardy TBC

Leading towards Sanchez due to the fact Everton cannot keep cleanies
Tempted by Vardy and Payet too just to gain points

I'm gonna transfer out Pelle and take in Sturridge presuming he comes through the EL match unscathed, I might even Captain him at the weekend, but then again I probably won't, it'll be Sanchez or Vardy, toss a coin.

Pelle has Bournemouth at home in GW11, a game he could easily rack up a double digit score in. Wouldn't be getting rid of him before that and if I did it wouldn't be for an injury prone replacement.

Sturridge isn't fit for the EL game so i would stay away from him

    Ramsey hamstring injury

Cant see Alexis being rested for love nor money

I am also captaining Vardy though

    Probably Vardy.

Probably Vardy too but I'm also considering Mahrez just to be different. I reckon he'll start at home and will have a point to prove.

Claudio would be a fool not to start Mahrez, last week's game was a perfect example of how much of difference he makes.

He's only at 4.8% on the FFS poll so could be a great differential. Considering him myself.

    Vardy, Mahrez or possibly Sanchez.

Any fancy talking me into Costa? I've a feeling he's due a bit of a biggie.

Done  Feck it, the captain differentials is why I Got so high last year. I still remember last season's glorious Austin, Downing and Cazorla days :D

I just read the following on the bbc...

"If he scores on Saturday, Vardy joins an elite group of only five players - Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Emmanuel Adebayor, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Daniel Sturridge - to have scored in seven successive Premier League games in the last 20 years."

It's nearly making me reconsider captaining him! This run has to end sometime...

Very interesting, I have never owned him but will probably take a hit to get him in tonight, it could well mean he's on penalties even if Mahrez is on the pitch, his record with penalties is very good so it wouldn't even be a sentimental decision.

Has to be Sanchez for me, Vardy is reliable, but Sanchez is on form and explosive.

Yes, but in light of Wenger's comments about him being jaded, would you not be worried about him being benched or else only playing 60 minutes...very hard decision this week.

I'm not worried about him being benched (although anything is possible). If he comes off it means Arsenal have scored a few goals IMO, particularly with him being almost certain to be rested in the League Cup.

So IMO if he is subbed off there is a pretty good chance he has been among the Arsenal goals. They won't sub him off if there is only a goal either way between the teams IMO. He's extremely naturally fit so wouldn't be as affected by his fixture list as other players (Aguero) might be.

wenger has just said he regrets playing Ramsey in the game last weekend as he was "overloaded" after the int break.........

That is Ramsey though. You could go back through countless Wenger interviews in the past about how Sanchez doesn't need to be rested and refuses to be. He'll be fine I imagine.

He's having a dig back at the Welsh I'd say. A former coach of their backroom team publicly criticised Arsenal blaming the Ramsey injury on 'overtraining of young players'.

I'm on Sanchez despite a hankering to give it to KDB. If Vardy comes in he'll probably get minimum of VC

Toss up between Costa and Sanchez for me. Everton have been pretty good on the road so may give it to Costa

So guys, after Sanchez, Aguero & Costa who do you want me to "bless" for a blinder this week-end :pac:? Martial or Pellè would suit me :p...
