    Aidan decked Johnny.
Mary and what's his name had a snog in the car.
Roy and Kathy have fallen out over his betraying her trust
Anna pretended to be pregnant by randy Kevin in order to scare his stalker off. That was funny!

Haha, she, Kevins Gf (can't remember her name) was a bit 'full on' forward and something else......

That's it...I'm standing alone among the passing tumbleweed and saying it out loud...I'm sick of Carla and her awful screeching whiney voice. Jeeesus!! She wasn't that scuttered when they left the casino and made their way up to the lift and into the room. She'd loads of time to think. Not as if they fell backwards into the bed in a spontaneous shag! She's a stuupid wench and I'm fresh out of sympathy for her.

Blame Blackburn, Ann, sure it's no wonder she's leaving, what with the way he's directing her cachacter... :(

Carla has so many people around her that care for her its unreal and she pushes them away

Im beyond blaming the characters. Or maybe Im beyond empathising with them. The whole Johnny/Carla thing was completely unshocking for me for the simple reason Johnny and Co have been on the street for week. Im very fuzzy on how they all know each other and so don't really understand why this revelation is such a big deal.

Maybe, if Carla and Aiden had had a fling years ago, then it would be "Er mah gerd!". I suppose its possible that will still be revealed, but otherwise, I'm really not bothered.

Gone are the days when I'd imagine what I'd do in a similar situation when a plot line from Corrie interested me, now, I know the charaters are just all puppets being controlled by an inept puppet-master, Mr Blackburn.

When Mary talks about her collection of paranormal magazines, her travel diaries and previous attempts at a novel, I wonder is she referring to whatever's left of them inside the compacted cube that was once the beloved campervan she has long since forgotten.

Speaking of living arrangements, Kate is now renting, solo, Lloyd's old apartment on whatever she makes in packing, meanwhile Sean works two jobs, at least one on full time hours, and lives in the box room of a former council house and is always complaining that he's broke...

Being broke seems to be a big issue in soaps and yet you have to wonder why so many of them go to the pub for their lunch when they're houses are actually nearer to their workplace.
And on the issue of pub lunches....Is there not something wrong with having a pint at lunch time and then going back to operate machines???

Well thats a fair point. Even going to the cafe every day would soon add up. Between the bacon sarnie in the morning, the cake run around 11, pint/lunch in the pub and "a quick one" after work, when most of them have to walk further to the pub than they do to get home, its no wonder they are broke all the time.

In my opinion no there isn't. Traditionally it was very common especially in that part of the world to have a drink with lunch. Nowadays we seem to have inherited american cororate policies which put drink in the same category as class A drugs.

Fair enough but if I had a pint at lunch time and had to go back to work I think Id just put my head on desk and sleep (yeah Im a light weight)

My friend worked in a London temping for a time in the 90s. Said her office colleagues all went to the pub at lunchtimes. She was really struggling at first. ..she'd be tipsy in the afternoons making loads of mistakes.

I still don't like listening to her voice. It's very harsh and shrewlike. Doesnt match her appearance. Another thing -altho down to the scriptwriter She's always saying "it's all my fault" or "it's not my fault"...repeats it in every storyline she's involved in-over and over again. Wears me it does

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,042 ✭✭✭SouthernBelle

I'm wondering if Mary will move into Emily's house while she's away, as company for Norris.

Have to say, after almost 40years of following Coronation Street and always enjoying taking time out to sit back relax and enjoy im totally sick of it now.

The storeylines are all recycled do msny times now its not entertaining anymore.

All the new characters are absolutely attrocious too. :(

The acting by the new people is horrendous.

Would you return to Corrie in its current state? She'd probably get more money on the Bold and the Beautiful.

    Yep. That's it.
    And...

A young bag packer on factory floor telling management that a strategy was needed! Sweet J...s.
A grown mature woman lighting paper in a bin inside the house, then leaving it to answer the phone! For F...s sake.

I must admit, I didn't even know what they were on about when they all went out and started looking at the wall, after it had been cleaned. :o I don't really pay full attention when watching Corrie these days.

They must have powerwashed all the walls as they were all too clean!

Weatherfield is a strange place. If you call the council to complain about graffiti they will rush over and magically clean it all away, without a trace, in double quick time. However, if an apartment building goes on fire or if a local woman goes into labour, there will be an agonising, hours long wait for an ambulance to appear.....

And Kevin called about graffitti on the wall next to the garage, but the council removed graffitti instead from behind the terrace in the ginnel.

Also, would Kevin not have asked Tim to remove the grafitti? I know wall cleaning isnt the same vocation as windows cleaning, but its in the same area and Tim could probably do with the money.

And also he asked the council to remove graffiti how are they supposed to know not to remove maddies mural as well as its graffiti, I don't understand why they were giving out about the council, what did they expect???

It's leading into Sally deciding to go for a council seat.

Lol. Michelle to Carla while both of them are knocking back the red wine - "please don't tell me you've been drinking!" Seriously, who writes this crap?!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,347 ✭✭✭LynnGrace

I thought the scene with Tyrone in the hospital, shouting at the guy, was just ridiculous. The whole story is just badly done, IMO, Fiz is completely unconvincing. The only one, as usual, who makes it any way believable, is Roy.

Yes, it was a shame that she left quite suddenly, and didn't return. Hopefully some good people will be brought in / back this year.
