Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great save, but that's a shocking miss from Walcott.

He got it on target. 99/100 keepers in the world that's a goal. Could've done better perhaps, but definitely not a shocking miss.

I really don't think Ramsey is up to scratch here. He just does not look like he can accomplish anything at this level.

He is not and will not ever be a right winger. Hammering this point home by a woeful follow up there!

How did Theo not score there? Bloody Neuer :(

He's 5 yards out with a free header. Neuer should've never had the chance to save it.

    It's a sitter.

Get up and keep playing or get off. No need for tackle breaks

It was more a comment on Lawro saying "he'll be running in 2 minutes" of course he will, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt right now.

What? He's been our best player by a mile!

Far too slow coming out and getting caught offside too easily.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I haven't enjoyed a game of football this much since Newcastle scored goals and won a game.

Poor enough technique from Walcott, fairly tentative. Could have done any number of things which would have resulted in a goal.

Should have been headed downwards, then keeper doesn't get it. Basic stuff.

Disagree. Getting it on target when you're unmarked with a simple enough header on isn't enough. Wasn't shocking but it was a bad miss.

    0-0, somehow. Very entertaining though.

Sanchez and Cazorla giving a lot of ball away.

    Great first half. Very enjoyable.

    Fantastically entertaining half, I found.

Great first half, bit frantic at times. Walcott causing problems in behind but not doing enough with the ball.

Great game. Arsenal really on it tonight, should be ahead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Walcott up front is great tactically, for Arsenal, I feel. He stretches that Bayern defence with his runs, especially on the counter, in a way that Giroud couldn't.

However, while it may be working tactically, he himself is having a poor day in terms of his quality on the ball.

If Arsenal had someone of Thierry Henry's ilk up front they'd be at least 1 maybe 2 goals up.

Shocking miss from Walcott you have to score them

    This

Not only has he missed a sitter, but he got on several good positions but his final ball has been terrible.

Walcott is quick and has decent movement but just lacks the finish of a top quality striker.

Still, he looks promising in the role.

    Souness is dire

    "Totally alien game from Arsenal"

Has he watched any of their big games in 2015?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

Really great game, Bayern are scarily good but we've had some chances and we're in with a shout. Nil all in the other game which is good too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

One of the better games I've seen this season. Arsenal could have really done with a goal, it'll be really difficult for them to keep that intensity up in the 2nd half - could see Bayern taking control and winning.

That Neuer save is one of the best I've ever seen. Incredible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,976 ✭✭✭doc_17

That was a horrendous miss from Walcott. Should have scored. Decent game and hope it continues in similar vein in the second half

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

Owen hargreaves is heading into the bayern dressing room after the game hoping for a spit-roasting

Ox for Rambo soon hopefully, he is hopeless out on that wing.

    That Ramsey done for. Hamstring

For sure, but also, you're talking about one of the best to ever do it, to be fair.

Psychic. Hopefully that's not long term for Rambo but i'd say at least a month

Ramsey going off means that Arsenal might actually have 11 men on the pitch now. ;)

Feck it another injury. Although the Ox isn't a bad replacement!

God it really is worrying how easily that happened to him. There's 20 lads running around there no problem and he picks up a hamstring injury jogging.

He has struggled for form big time when played from the start

His impact off the bench has been much better

Doesn't do the defensive side well enough for Wenger.
