I have an account with Bank of Ireland. Recently I have been relocated abroad due to work. I would like to keep my account with BOI open, as there is a chance I could be back in a year or two.

Can I change my permanent address to a place abroad, so that I can receive statements and replacement cards (cards expiring in 2017)?

    Hi klee2011,

Thanks for contacting us here on Boards.

Yes it is possible to keep your account open and change the address to your new address abroad. If you have a sole account and have registered your mobile for receiving security codes, you can do this on 365 Online by going to the Online Service Desk and choose Update Postal Address. You will then be guided through the steps online and will be asked to provide copies of proof of your new address.

If you have a joint account, please download this form and post it along with your proof of address to the address included on the top of the form.

I hope this helps and please let us know if we can help with any other query.

    Thanks,
    Sarah
