Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As Irish citizens are we entitled to claim jobseekers allowance if we arrive in the UK immediately?

    3 month minimum.

You'll need an address for an NI card too though.

Were you living in the North for 3 months?

If you have lived in the North, then I'd say your best bet is ringing them, I'd imagine they'd be able to track you from your payslips/JSA equivalent there.

There's been a similar thread on here within the last year or so might be worth digging out, it seemed to indicate you can bring the JSA with you, but again, I'm not sure if this is kicks in straight away.

As far as I know you have to have lived in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland for three months before applying for JSA.

    From the previously posted link

From 1 January 2014, before you can claim income based Jobseeker’s Allowance you must have been living in the UK the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland for the three months immediately before making your claim for Jobseeker’s Allowance.

It has since transpired that this is the case.
