Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nothing coming off from the front 4 at all, nothing happening for either of the wide men, both keeping losing possession. All the ball but keep giving it away needlessly. I'd say we might see Mata at half time if nothing changes

    Good ball in from Martial!

You'd really miss Mata when he's not on the pitch. Would like to see him on for Lingard at HT.

United play like a knock off version of Bayern with inferior players and inferior confidence on the ball

Yeah I think we can expect to see Mata in the second half. We need a bit of guile.

Has Valencia ever hit a good cross?

Football will be a no contact sport within 5 years. Terrible.

Basti is giving away a lot of ball

Very similar performances from both last night and tonight though :)

Utd's best chance of scoring is to give the ball to the CSKA defenders because at least the ball might be in the vicinity of the goal.

Possession football is a bit pointless when you are a goal down, the other team have nothing to gain being pulled out of position pressing the ball

The most frustrating thing is CSKA look extremely ordinary and Utd aren't testing them at all.

Unless you want to hunt him down propping up the bar in Lillies or somwhere and ask him, you might be waiting.

    This is shocking stuff.

300m for that? LVG is devoid of any ideas

  • Registered Users Posts: 475 ✭✭twinex

    Is Fellaini coming on?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

Well that was fairly typical of Utd under LVG.

Absolutely nothing to think we'll of there from United, turgid stuff in terms of penetration so far.

To be fair, CSKA are set up and defending very well.

This is worse than a cricket game. Boring awful shíte.

Lacking that star quality in attack.
Can't expect Martial to do it in every game. Rooney offers very little nowadays, painful watching him.

    I'd say that's what's going to happen.

He has been pretty poor tbh, although not the only one.

Seriously it's like watching football played on Prozac.

10 men behind the ball at all times is difficult to creak down. All it needs if for either Martial or Jesse to actually beat their man and we're in.

    This

CSKA are defending they way they always do, they make it tough for teams to get in behind them, but the positive is that teams often do in the end :)

Perfect game for them as it goes, got their goal and now they can just focus on keeping United out, which isnt rocket science these days sadly. Valencia is a very poor option at right back, hate seeing him out there and particularly against a pacy player. The penalty I blame more so on Rojo then Martial funnily enough, think he has been very poor.

Lots of work to do from a United point of view.

He's trying to instigate something though... I'd keep him on. The others take your pick really.

I wonder if Rooney is carrying a long term injury at this stage. Shadow of the player he once was United team carrying him now for a long time.

    This is it.

It's fantastic when you score first. You'll then see a performance like the Everton game as there will be space to exploit and there's little onus on Utd to penetrate.

This is the worst possible scenario for LVG's Utd.

I think he just peaked early. See his chance against Everton at weekend? No legs left !

United to bang one in, in the first 5min of the second half

    Fellaini is coming on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,217 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Lingard is offering nothing, Martial is being man marked out of it and Rooney is Rooney, something is going to give there and Id say it will be Lingard.

Herrera will probably stay on since Schwein will surely be off after an hour and Carrick and Schneiderlin is too slow, then if one picks up a knock your ****ed.
