Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm actually ok with IB and Trials being on at the same time. Most of the try hards and their mad sniper skillz will gravitate to Trials, which enables me to run around relatively unmolested on IB. Had a lot of fun on IB this time round.

What was the point of having trials on at the same time as IB? Would they not space them out?!

My IB drops were lots of strange coins, some ghosts and below 300 armour and a 315 scout rifle so happy enough.

I also got a 311 scout from trials.

Iron Banner lasts a week every month or so, Trials is every weekend. They are just different beasts. So 3 days out of every 30 or so, they overlap.

Many trials players don't bother with IB, and likewise many IB players don't bother with Trials.

I'd say only 2.5% of players bother attempting both on the same weekend

Thats strange.. (no pun intended) did you go to orbit after opening or straight quit the game?

There was a weird bug were I didn't get some loot after opening packages until I went to orbit.

Ah. No I just quit. I'll check when I get home. Hope it's not too late!

IB is just a bit of craic, doesn't scrath the same competitive itch Trials, better drops this time around though.

    Nightfall: Alak-Hul (Sunless Cell)

    Modifiers

Epic - Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.
Berserk - Minions of the Darkness won't flinch, even after massive damage.
Specialist - Special Weapon damage is favored.
Chaff - Player radar is disabled.
Fresh Troops - Some enemy squads have been fortified with additional reinforcements.

    No thanks Bungie :pac:
I'll stick to my PvP Nightfall Bounties given I have a bunch of them not turned thanks to IB

Regardless of the modifiers the nightfalls have all been pretty easy. bang them out in 15.

I can't remember the last iron banner this year, but are the loot tables related ? This time there was a chest, arms piece and then machine gun and hand cannon. Some people got a helm in the package 5 drop, would that be on the purchase list next time ?

Could anyone recommended good sidearms they use? I'd like to start sorting some for December weapons mod.

I don't use them but the Havoc Pigeon and IB ones are pretty good. The IB one in particular is game breaking (allegedly) if you get the right roll on it (range)

Vestian Dynasty still does the business.

Also, don't discount the ole Blue ones, I got one with 2 decent PvP perks

    Jolders > Bretomarts

I'm quite envious of you feckers who got the 320 helmets and the scout from the lvl 5 packages. Got plenty of ghosts here, if anyone wants one :P

Got the scout, but only a 310 version. Nice gun. Very close to the Jade Rabbit which I love, which frees up an exotic slot.

I keep 2 of these, one in solar and one in arc, handy for doing those bounties to get the weapon kills, jabberhakke-d, both with quick reload and they can hold 15 bullets.

On a similar note, what are people using for auto-rifles? I love using the super-cell, but then I dont get to use my other exotics. I have the "an answering chord" and "Arminius-D", but don't do enough damage I feel.

Its the one you were looking at the other night, with the far too high range on it (though that might become a very nice roll after the december update). You didn't seem too enthused by it on the night.

72 for a crit shot in PvP, in IB. Think the Jade Rabbit hits for about 78.

I have an answering chord I love - kills speed up reload, which is already quite hight on mine so its great fun in PVE. Not had much joy in PvP but I'm not a good PvP player, so my opinion on weapons in PvP ain't worth snot.

Would you hold it against if I was out of the room the entire time and only came back too late to view it and then was too embarrassed to say I hadn't seen it at all :pac:

Ha - but I don't believe you. You were commenting on the range of it. And I heard you come back into the room and say "Lets take a look at this scout you keeping banging on about...."

:-), not the greatest myself, but can grind it out to lvl 5 of the IB with the best of them. Must look at the answering chord again and check the roll, I sometimes get the same armour/weapons and trash them before checking if they have a better roll than my currently equipped.

I should have been more through, maybe even used the ole "Compare" button.... Think I was kind of in my cups then

I'm not looking forward to the December update. Invective :( Nirwan's Mercy  Hammers  None of this nerfing fills me with joy.

Rate of Fire, Impact and Range are basically the same as the Jade Rabbit. Far more stability on the Colovance (on my one - with Braced Frame) but a slightly slower reload.

Got Hidden Hand (yay) and Icarus (boo) rolls on mine

I have it equipped on my Hunter at the moment if you want to take a look (think you can do that in some apps/sites)

Actually now that you mention Icarus I do remember seeing that weapon. Simply bringing up Icarus to let the wind out of your sails :P

Its a good gun, but yeah - icarus is a bad roll. I like the braced frame and hidden hand perks though.

    But yeah.... icarus.

Finally hit Rank 5 on Iron Banner with my Warlock.

Really struggling with the pulse rifle & sniper combo - that coupled with some really laggy games and I don't think my K/D ratio will ever recover from this Iron Banner :(

K/D ration on my last 4 games:

    Warlock: 1.0, 0.88, 0.13, 0.67
    Hunter: 4.5, 2.0, 2.0, 1.44

Blink shot-gunning is dead! Long live blink shot-gunning!

Super-cell is awesome. The auto rifle buff at the beginning of year 2 was meant to make them competitive again, but I think it was overhyped bull. The only autos I've found usable in the Crucible are the Suros Regime and Monte Carlo. I have a decent Antipodal Hindsight that was my go to PvE gun during my first raid runs, but didn't fancy it in Crucible.

Autos always seem to get outgunned by pulse or scout rifles. Pulse rifles still rule PvP, even after the weapon update last week. I used Apple of Discord and then Hawksaw during IB. I occasionally used Red Death, but I prefered saving the exotic slot for Truth which is still the best PvP launcher in the game imo.

The weapon buff/nerf hasn't happened yet, has it? Its the december update for that isn't it?
