I saw a documentary where they were talking to a few players about it and what they said was that the purpose of the haka (for the rugby team) was drawing on the spirits/power of their ancestors and that given their ancestors were technically in the ground it made more sense to finish it still connected to them, that is by not jumping.

He didn't.

He was giving a penalty to NZ until the TMO asked him to check something.

He didn't. Penalty against SA superseded by foul play penalty against NZ

The original penalty was to New Zealand prior to tmo call for the other penalty.

TMO told him about awarding the penalty Carter missed mid-play. Why could he not inform of him too of the neckgrab midplay, advantage over and let Pietersen go..

Very similar to the Wales match. SA not really looking much like scoring but poor discipline from NZ and a good kicker keeping them in it.
