About time I introduced myself here anyway. Just upgraded my trusted moped to a Honda CBF600, IBT complete, test booked, enjoying it so far.

I need to get a bike cover as I have nowhere indoors to store it yet. Any suggestions, there seems to be endless variants. I have a big topbox too so I'm concerned it won't fit if I buy online.

    Thanks:)

Oxford make an outdoor cover specially designed to go over a topbox. Available in different sizes too

My bike lives outdoors, so i've sampled a fair few covers over the years. My last few covers have been the Oxford Rainex which is excellent imo. Can throw it on a hot bike without fear of it melting on the hot exhaust. Waterproof, good ventilation and iirc got a recommended rating from Ride magazine.

For the CBF with topbox you'd need a large. I had a large on my old Bandit with topbox and it fit well. I've a medium at the minute on my Hornet.

My bikes gave always lived outside. Covers are an absolute pain in the hoop.
They just end up in a ball on the ground cover in crap. Could never be bothered getting a cover on and off everyday. If I wasn't gonna use the bike for a week I might think about using a cover. I've a oxford stormed un a pile out the back since it bought it. Far too much hassle using the thing.

Yeah I can totally see how it would be a pain in the hoop and I would only be using it when I know I'm not doing anything with the bike for a few days or it's going to be brutal weather. Ultimately I will be putting some sort of fixed cover in the side passage of the house. Let me know if you want to sell on the stormex one:)

WAPAIC I have one of these for sale. http://www.bike-home.co.uk/bike-home-motorcycle-cover.html Bought it as an ex-demo model. Assembled it in front of the sitting room window and the wife said either the cover went or I did. So I dismantled it and its sitting in its bag in the shed. They are bloody big. but can be anchored to the ground so won't blow away. pm me if you're interested.

I've been thinking of getting one of those. What do you think of it? Is the cover material any good?

I have one oxford aquatex xl with topbox. Useless if used outdoors. I tried to use it one time and I found the bike wet under.

If someone is interested I can sell it, it's almost new.

I still have to choose if buying another one really waterproof, but it costs money, I use the bike every day, and I have no place to store it when wet and I use the bike.

Perhaps, I treated my bike with acf50 to prevent corrosion.

Any idea? I'm renting so a bike home or a shed is not an option.

The fabric is quiet strong and the cover is well made. Anybody I spoke to before buying mine said they were waterproof in all conditions. It's just a pity that I didn't check out the measurements first.

I think bike covers are a bit of a double sided thing. On the one hand they do keep prying eyes off, protect the paint and from the worst of weather i.e. snow etc.... on the other hand they hold in the moisture on the bike, in certain atmospheric conditions you will see the bike "sweating" with a layer of moisture on unable to dry with the breeze.

This is the only cover you will ever need...

I've tried Oxford Stormex etc., but this is hands down, 100%, the best waterproof cover I've ever had...
