Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Supposedly only second game of season without a shot on target in first half.

    Other was United vs Liverpool.

Martial is wasted on the wing. Look what hes doing there compared to the central striker. Love to see him going at Kompany and Otamendi rather than Rooney.

Snore fest of a first half , City look the more likely to score.

Terrible game. United are such a bad team to watch these days. Not 1 shot at home.

And Rooney is one of United's best players today. People looking for any chance to criticise him.
Yeah; I'd say any neutral watching the game would have found it poor enough. We haven't really turned up yet, united have been marginally the better of two poor (at least today) sides.

Im just a bit shocked to read people think hes playing ok.

How many times did he give the ball away there?

    .

Ya im scratching my head reading it.

Looks likley. City cant handle him at all while on the other hand Rojo is all over De Bruyne and Valancia doing well against Stirling. Two of the areas where i thought we might struggle..

    Eh?
As a United fan im happy with the first half.. we look solid and were the better side... just need to create more chances..

    Ahhh now it makes sense.

Rojo has done well but De Bruyne is getting on the ball a hell of a lot. To say Rojo is all over him is just wrong. And besides a touch here and there Martial has been pretty damn quiet. Cannot handle him at all is a complete over shoots

Rooney isn't having a bad game by his recent standards (in that he's made a few passes and actually seems to be fighting for the ball), but he's still significantly below what we need from a striker if we want to be beating City. He's never a danger to the defence, never looking like he'll actually score a goal or create a moment that will lead to one.

Martial has been running circles round the defence from the wing. Would love to see him put up front to let run at Kompany and Otamendi, especially with one of them on a yellow.

Utd incredibly negative. No reason they shouldn't go at City more.

Kompany has Rooney in his pocket. It would be nice to see martial upfront but LVG won't allow it.

Rojo and Valencia have played well.

A crazy as this sounds it fells like a game fellaini could end up doing something usefull and getting a goal.

As we need more elbows lol.

    More elbows FTW!

He'd be crazy to not let Martial run at Kompany for the next 45.

De Bruyne is seeing a lot of the ball but his threat as to what he can do with it has been neutralised by Rojo.. not getting crosses in and loosing out in the tackle. I think that might meet the definition of Rojo being all over him..

Martial has been quiet but when he has seen the ball he is running at the city defence and drawing three players to him to try and close him down leaving space elsewhere... ohh and if the city back four cant twckle him they are just fouling him to stop him...

    Anyway.. interesting second half awaits

De Bruyne has been fairly sh*t so far, getting plenty of time and touches on the ball.

City got lucky there, another ref would have given that. Sterling's reaction was guilty as hell.

Toure's little pull there saved a goal.

Good foul by Toure, saved a certain goal and got away with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

City simply aren't that great without Silva.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Why De Bruyne isn't playing on the left is beyond me from a City perspective

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,529 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

Rooney is absolute gash...has offered nothing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,504 ✭✭✭Polo_Mint

    Really poor game this.
    Rooney lol
Jesus this is awful. Any chance of a shot on goal?
Shocking half of ball. 0 shots on target play acting a plenty.
