If I think something I might say would cause a person real offence then I won't say it, it's never happened though and I can't think of any discussion I would be in that it would.

Anything else you need to get off your chest pal.?

    A "bunch of people" ?

This poster calls that you work for an American Multi-National which some will contend is a great breeding place for Dicks of all sorts.?
    I don't follow?

They appeared to be satirising hyper PC/offended types, which would be fine if those were actually present on this thread. If there was a reference to American multi-nationals, I missed it.

..... The subject was on transsexuals and how they like to be called. One poster said he thinks of them as the original gender like Germaine said.......

Greer does indeed believe that a person who gets "M to F" surgery is not necessarily female.

I think this depends on one's definition of female.

According to the dictionary definition she would be right: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/female
    Definition of female in English:
    adjective
Of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes:
    a herd of female deer

    Another definition here
    noun
    1.
a person bearing two X chromosomes in the cell nuclei and normally having a vagina, a uterus and ovaries, and developing at puberty a relatively rounded body and enlarged breasts, and retaining a beardless face; a girl or woman.
    2.
an organism of the sex or sexual phase that normally produces egg cells.
    3.
    Botany. a pistillate plant.
She did say in the interview below at 2:25 that she uses female speech forms for people who wish to be known as female as a courtesy.

I don't know much of Germain Greer but I don't think she is being offensive in this case.

Most of the time people who claim that they are "offended" are just seeking to shut down debate on a given subject or looking for a way to derail something.

"Offence" is claimed waaaay too often these days and more often than not is wholly disingenuous and used simply as a weapon.

Agree. Is the right to offend, not implicit in "The Right to Freedom of Expression"
PC bu***hit has gone waaaay to far.
