My teen is looking for a PS4 for Christmas and I've no idea which console is best and what extras he needs. Any help appreciated.

this would be a great buy

and if your teen is into fifa it's an extra €34 as opposed to €60 if bought before the 16th.

don't forget to buy a PSN subscription (€60 that does the full year).

and before christmas (two/three days before) open it up and install software updates and game updates so that it's ready to go, the update servers will get hammered christmas morning so best to do a few days before hand.

What games is your kid into? Will they be playing a lot of games, will they be playing online?

Was into the mine craft game, the sims etc but seems to be heading towards those call of duty type games. He has an X box and would have played online a good bit. It seems a lot of the PS4 games are 18.

Just ask him directly what game he wants with it, better than him being disappointed if he unwraps minecraft and thats not what he wanted. A good online multiplayer game can be months of entertainment, even more if he plays with friends as well.

Not sure what to tell you about the 18s ratings for games. Yes there are a lot of war games that are very popular, like Battlefield and Call of duty, its probably the most popular game genre at the moment and will be for a few years more. Gameplay is mostly shooting people, its your call whether or not you think thats suitable for him. He probably will ask for one of those games, and his friends are probably going to be playing them too, so be prepared for that conversation.

But research it first, don't just give him a flat no. Some games have filters for blood, gore and profanity.

    Good luck :)

Destiny might be a good game to get for him, lots of shooting but not as violent as the others. I'd echo the others, just ask him what he wants and go from there.

This is a good deal, 350 for the Limited Edition PS4 and Destiny.

Be aware, if he needs to play online and he probably does, you need to buy a Playstation Plus Membership, they are 50 euro for 12 months. This allows him to play online and also download selected free games that are released online each month.

When Battlefront and the new Call of Duty comes out, there should be other good value bundles coming out as well.
