Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Campbell on the right as expected

Then we definitely wont last the pace with all the sick notes in the squad imo. january is hard but hopefully Wenger has learned his lesson. His January transfer window a few years back cost us a genuine shot at the title. A Gabriel/Monreal type signing would be immense.

We might just get others fit though. I mean we've a few injuries but it's not a disaster yet. It could go either way.

Problem with Jan is we'd need midfield/attacking players that can come in and do a job straight away in a league challenge.

    Pretty tough ask

Not much attacking option on the bench today. Needs to get someone in January.

Why? With Rosicky, wilshere, ox, walcott and welbeck all back by then how would we even fit a new attacking option in the squad? There's no way all those players will be injured again at the same time after Jan.

    Investing in Jan really tough.

You basically can't get any decent European international to move 6 months before Euros.

We're done for the season I'd say.

Just like we were done after losing to West Ham...

Players will be back, man city and utd are no great shakes this season and Chelsea are just hilarious.

Given our recent history - actually not just recent - how likely is that they will all be back and we won't have anyone else out?

We dont need all of them back, even one or two of them would be fine cover.

That bench today is scarily lacking in attacking options. Big few games for Campbell or Iwobi coming up let's hope one of them can produce the goods.

When we dont start with intensity I feel it will be a bad afternoon.

The way we started against United should be the level.

Campbell's putting a shift in so far.

Phew, thank God he bottled that, great covering Bellerin.

Also great to see Cech stay on his feet for so long.

    Wow, got away with that.

Campbell playing well so far. Languid start of style not too dissimilar to KANU.

    Playing poor.

    Campbell doing good.

Jesus we aren't closing players down or chasing the ball.

Gonna concede soon if we dont start pressing.

Giroud should've done MUCH better there. Had acres of space and plenty of time.

    Campbell looks fair unfit....

Mert is a complete joke again, how he starts ahead of Gabriel is behond me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,742 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Be surprised if Campbell is match fit given that he never plays

Dont see how Campbell looks any different to the other players out there.

That doesnt look good. Sanchez up top with his movement could help us in thos game though as Giroud isnt getting much joy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,766 ✭✭✭farna_boy

How is that not a foul? I don't think the Swansea player made any attempt to play the ball.

If he manages to stay on something will have to change because he is getting **** all service today.

And who'd play on the wing?

In fairness to Giroud, he is hard to injure. If that was one of the British lads, they would be out for a few months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

    Gibbs maybe?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

Take Ramsey out of that midfield and all of s sudden the coq/Cazorla partnership doesn't look great

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,307 ✭✭✭DarraghF197

    Gibbs maybe?

I'm not sure if you're joking or not! I'd chance Iwobi over him, and I'm not a Gibbs hater.

I'd probably pick a 4-3-1-2 formation with Sanchez and Campbell up front if Giroud is injured.

In all fairness the whole team isn't playing well.
