Does anyone know where to get a Spice Bag in or around the city?

I've had a spice bag in a Chinese take away in Templemore and in Longford but they are too far away to go for a €6.50 bag of chicken and chips!

Any insight into where I could procure this work of food art would be greatly appreciated!

If you wanted it bad enough you would make the drive. It's a lazy culture we live in.

    :pac:

Could like make up a bag of spice mix yourself then go to the chipper and get the mix of stuff. What exactly is it

I've been doing that myself when I make chips etc at home.
Salt, ground pepper, chili flakes and some Knorr Aromat.
Its good but its not the same!

You need to go on the hunt for one!
I've tried looking up the Chinese take aways on Just Eat but no luck.
They are generally not on the main menus and up on a home made poster :)

Just ring up your local Chinese and ask.
Many don't have them on the menu online / flier yet, but some have small card posters on the shop walls saying they do them.

The Lemon Tree Chinese Takeaway on College road does it:

Spicy Bag - Deep fried shredded chicken mixed with healthy vegetables and seasoned chips, using our special blend of salt & chilli

You'll have to do a review so that we all know if it's worth a visit.

I had a conversation about these recently, couldn't understand it. I'll ask where they got it and report back.

    Edit: Bamboo House in Douglas.

In Dublin most of the Chinese will now have the spice bag / spicy bag / spicey bag on their proper menu. The days of home made posters are gone!

    Why is that?

People in Cork are too sophisticated for Spice Bags?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,651 ✭✭✭Milly33

No no more the (im bound to get one of these sayings right) the latter!! Don't tell me its ladder :)
