Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sepp Blatter: Russia 2018 World Cup 'agreed before vote'

Suspended Fifa president Sepp Blatter has suggested there was an agreement in place for Russia to host the 2018 World Cup - before the vote took place.
The 79-year-old told Russian news agency Tass of a "discussion" in 2010 around future World Cups.
He also said a late swing in the voting towards Qatar undid a similar agreement to give the 2022 World Cup to the USA.
The Swiss is serving a 90-day ban alongside Uefa chief Michel Platini. Both men deny any wrongdoing.
Asked about whether it was a mistake to award the 2018 and 2022 tournaments simultaneously, Blatter replied: "It was agreed that we go to Russia because it's never been in Russia, eastern Europe, and for 2022 we go back to America.
"And so we will have the World Cup in the two biggest political powers."

Voting process just a facade it seems

If only they'd let the other bidders in on this...

What a totally abhorent organisation FIFA is. Run by the most obnoxious self serving slithers imanginable. Still making excuses and blaming others for what are straightforward acts of coruption and deceit not to mention contempt for football and supporters everywhere. I seriously hope that Blatter, Platini and their cronies see the insides of a cell and that the organisation can be stripped and re populated with decent football people with the interests of the sport first and foremost.

FIFA can't even rig a vote properly

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

If there was an agreement in place but votes changed this on the day, then there obviously wasn't an agreement made beforehand.

Well there may have been an agreement but that does not rule out that people were willing to break that agreement if the price was right, which very well may have been what happened.
