Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

B&B or Airbnb that are dog friendly in Ireland

    Hi,

I've a friend who wishes to drive to Ireland with her dog and wants to decide where to stay as she explores the country. I was wondering if there was some kind of list or website for dog owners that gives accomodation that is dog friendly. This would allow her to at least get a feel for what's available and how far ahead she needs to book. It's going to be November so too cold for a dog used to being indoors.

    Cheers for any info!

If hotels are an option, tripadvisor lets you filter for hotels that allow pets.

We are in UK for 6 weeks and had to bring our post-op dog with us.
We are renting a little cottage (its absoluely perfect!)
I started looking on AIRbnb and all the biggest holiday rentals. I found none or near to none, until I started to message and ASK specifically if we could bring our dog - assuring the owner that he is a very well behaved dog. I soon found some places that said yes (a few did say no). In fact the property we are renting that is so lovely, actually said NO PETS in the advert! So I would imagine if she makes a list of B&B's or rentals in the areas she wants to visit, and messages them to ask if they would allow a dog, she will find what she is looking for

Just a note about tripadvisor pet friendly option.
I have not found it trustworthy as an indication for dog friendliness
Always ring the hotel/ b+b to confirm as it might not be the case.
I have found that when i mention i will be bringing a crate for my dog to rest and sleep in and that he is a very quiet dog (will not bark if left unattended)then they might be more accomodating if they are on the fence with allowing a dog to stay.

Good point, I know one place when we enquired about it they said the dog had to be under 20kg and crated when in the room.

IF they were travelling around Cork the Hayfield Manor does allow pets mind they are suppose to be more upper class.. The West Cork hotel in Skibbereen allows them too but I think they are kept outside in pens.

https://www.woofadvisor.com/ may be of some assistance to you - just to be aware that some places may set limits on the size of the dog permitted.
