8 Days in Thailand - tips?

So in December after some time in the Philippines I'm flying into Bangkok and departing from Phuket. I know I know, 8 days isn't enough for Thailand but I'm short on time and what not. So, anyone got tips on what to do - How long does Bangkok deserve? Anywhere to stop in between Bangkok and the south? And any alternatives…

So in December after some time in the Philippines I'm flying into Bangkok and departing from Phuket.
I know I know, 8 days isn't enough for Thailand but I'm short on time and what not.

So, anyone got tips on what to do -
How long does Bangkok deserve?
Anywhere to stop in between Bangkok and the south?
And any alternatives to the touristy areas around Phuket?

Hey, i was just searching for philippines and came across your post.
Just wondering how you got on there? I love to go but i see a lot of warnings in place for tourists and terrorist attacks, just wondering how you found it? Id love to go, was thinking around March.
