Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Update on this,

DHL want 77 euro for customs and VAT charges, I dont understand this at all, I bought from their Irish OnePlus site.

Just received mine and no customs nor vat charges. Thing is a beauty!

Looks a nice case but too good to be true from Spigen?

Anyone else having issues with Whatsapp connectivity and notifications.

I've been noticing that while my phone is locked, sometimes the whatsapp notifications don't come through but once I unlock the phone, they come through all at once.
I use the Whatsapp Web on the computer, this needs constant communication with the phone, so sometimes it says it has lost the connection with the phone which implies that the phone is sending or receiving signals when in fact, the screen is just locked.

I have nothing on the phone which would stop the connection like battery savers or background data turned off. I don't know.

I've noticed the homescreen google search bar doesnt entirely work. Try hitting the microphone to activate a voice search. It does nothing.

Noticed the first few seconds of youtube videos are jumpy sometimes too.

Using Nova Launchers so got rid of the google search bar.

I've noticed the youtube videos alright. Also some videos embedded in Facebook are jumpy - like the phone can't process it quick enough

there is a setting when your phone is locked wifi will turn off. maybe yours is set to yes on it.

Wifi > Three dots on upper right > advanced > krrp wifi on during sleep.

alternatively if that doesnt work look around here:

    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/do-anyone-have-a-problem-receiving-whatsapp-notification-in-onrplus-x.404062/

they solved it by updating to the latest update

Thanks, this happening with the wifi turned off anyway. I'd rarely use it outside my house

    * Had that turned to always on anyway

Ordered mine from Geekbuying last week and it was dispatched yesterday. Estimated delivery time is 15-30 days even though it's coming from the Netherlands. How is that even possible??

Why did you order from Geek buying and not direct from OnePlus?

Cheaper, plus the fact that Geekbuying are held in fairly high regard.

I don't see the point, is already cheap. Why deal with a third party for warranty when the option is there to by straight from the manufacturer.

How much did you actually save?

Ive noticed my homescreen can a times be slow to load back up. ie. im in an app, and I hit the home button to close it and load the "desktop" and I get a freeze.

The odd time swype keyboard will load up, but when I type a word it doesnt show in the app. End up having to close the app and open it again (usually viber or google talk).

Youtube sometimes freezes on the first frame/thumbnail while I can hear the audio playing in the background. Again, closing the app and opening again fixes it.

    Those are my few annoyances.

What sort of screen on time are you getting?

I'm with three, didn't have any problems though popped the sim in and it found it fine, shows up as "Hutchinson 3G IReland limited 4g" not sure if it matters but check to make sure the sim card is in slot 1 and not 2?

For me the speaker is probably the worst part of the phone. I don't even use it for podcasts anymore, never mind music.

Hmm, it's not great compared to my HTC m7.

Mainly for the alarms. HTC woke me up with the loudness of it every morning. With the X, I don't know, the volume is not great and it doesn't wake me up, which is really annoying, as I'm late for work since I got it the phone a lot.

I think I have to invest in a new LOUD alarm clock, cause this is pathetic.

So yeah, the 'speaker' compared to HTC is rubbish!

On another side note. Anyone recommend me a reliable alarm clock that I can set like 6 alarms to go off extremely loud?

    Edit: I'm a deep sleeper.

Really? The default alarm on the X is the loudest alarm I have ever heard. It's even louder than some alarm clock buzzers. I need to turn it down but can't see where to do it yet. I've had a lot of phones and none came close to how loud the X is.

Edit: just found the volume for the alarm and by default it was set to 3/4 of the way up. If you can't hear that at full volume you're in a coma lol.

Haha as I said I'm a deep sleeper. The HTC m7 had pretty stereo speakers compared to this X. I have it at full volume too. Just doesn't wake me up. It's my only fault with the phone but it's a pretty big fault to me.

    Otherwise the phone is great!

You can set it to increase in volume as it goes off…that's how I got around it. It was scaring the b-jaysus out of me waking up at first.

Just activated one of these for the missus on the 48 network with her number transferred to a new nano SIM and I can't get rid of the roaming R symbol on the mobile signal icon. Removed and re-added the APN settings but still can't get rid of it. Anyone any ideas or will it just go away in time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭Dingatron

Because 48 is a virtual network operating on the Three network you need to have data roaming enabled for services to work as far as I am aware. The below may work but its dependant on phone/android version

Settings > Wireless & Networks > Dual SIM Settings* > General Settings > Roaming > Show roaming reminder = Never

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,072 ✭✭✭mass_debater

No such setting as dual Sim settings

I think its mentioned earlier that the only way to get this on Oxygen is to use Xposed (which requires you to root btw), there is a "National Roaming" xposed module...

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-national-roaming-t2420249

Also, now that it looks like we have a stable Cyanogenmode 12.1, you could flash that (a more severe remedy than Xposed though)...

OK, I'm not getting data at all in 48, tried everything, roaming, selecting o2 etc. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have this phone working on 48

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭Dingatron

Try the following link if you haven't already. There's an automated service that worked on unlocked Vodafone Ultra 6 for me a few months back but the generic settings should work.

I have mine working on 48, I am rooted and used an echoed module to hide the R symbol, although nut the above mentioned module.

I don't have data roaming enabled, not sure what settings I used but it works.

Has anyone else got the cheaper posting option of 6.95 ? 25 euro for postage seems like a lot. What do people think of the white option, it looks pretty nice from what I've seen.

Recently got a Oneplus x, have noticed that it changes to Vodafone 2G, I'm with 3. Is it possible to stop this as I keep getting data roaming notifications that I think are linked.
Sorry am not very techy so simple instructions will be needed, thanks.

Having the same problem down in Killarney. Won't pick up any data and the r button is constantly on. I can't get any mobile data when my wife, also on 3 has no problem. Back to Dublin tomorrow, so probably be fine then, but it's very annoying.

What's the cheapest option for buying the OnePlus X for Ireland? Is it through AliExpress or the OnePlus official Irish site: https://oneplus.net/ie/x

I don't mind waiting a few weeks extra, but concerned about Customs and warranty?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,273 ✭✭✭CantGetNoSleep

Better off going through the official site

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,911 ✭✭✭Zombienosh

GO through official website or else you might get stung by customs, also have the option of buying extra warranty from OnePlus.

  • Registered Users Posts: 418 ✭✭SeamusFX

As some of the other sites claim to ship from the UK, so I assume Customs shouldn't be an issue? So the only issue is the warranty, but wondering if it's worth the extra €55?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,273 ✭✭✭CantGetNoSleep

It could also be a Chinese version, there could be a difference in bands used, someone else will know the answer to this

The only difference with the Chinese ones are software, some of them ha e hydrogen OS instead of oxygen, and some have some bloat ware pre installed.
