Ah, now I remembered why I stopped frequenting the motors forum.

There you go folks, 10km over the limit and sure they should have been going slower but they weren't so they might as well be dealing drugs and drink driving and raping people.

Who said they may as well be drink driving and raping people? Read for comprehension please.

Well wouldn't the guard have to show up in court also? If he doesn't show does it get thrown out? He has no problem paying the fine, it's the points on his licence he would like to reverse.

What Garda? As far as im aware, a Garda would only have to turn up if your husband was stopped by a Garda and issued a speeding fine on the side of the road.

Your reply was utterly stupid, simple as that!

The only grounds to contest this fine I can think of, is to check that the speed limit at the location is correct.

I was done for speeding a few years ago (50 in a 30 zone). It turned out that the 30k speed signs were erected too early. the local by-laws had not been amended and the speed limit on the road on that day was actually 50!

It took a year, but I got my €80back and the penalty points were removed.

In your case, Its unlikely they are wrong, but check anyway.

Ah sure that's grand then! :D

I'd like to reverse a lot of things i've done, not a chance when the courts are involved.

No, you don't seem to understand, he doesn't want the points. So there should be some way that he doesn't have to get the points, know what I mean?

I fully understand but it's tough sh*t you take the punishment and move on. You don't pick and chose your punishment for breaking the law just cause it doesn't suit you.

Are you honestly suggesting that asking a question here is the same as dealibg drugs and rape?

OP broke no law that I know of.

Thanks for proving my point though.
