Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

[imagine pictures of crests, flags and bunting here if it pleases you]

    Ref - Mark Clattenburg

    Injury list

Chelsea - Courtios, Ivanovic, Pedro (maybe),Costa (maybe)
Liverpool - Rossiter, Sturridge, Henderson, Gomez, Ings, Flannagan, Enrique

    6 game form guide (PL)

    Chelsea L-W-D-L-W-L
    Liverpool L-D-W-D-D-D

Two teams in need of a win, both for rather different reasons stuttering and spluttering like an old Fiat in winter. Barring accidents its impossible to see this as being anything other than more cagey than a very cagey thing in a dungeon to be honest. Klopp will set the side up to play compact with a high line and look to land a quick jab when possession is turned over. If Mourinho did exactly the same I'd not be shocked!

No leaks so far (!) but the starting line up is likely to be

    Mig
    Clyne/Sktrel/Sakho/Moreno/
    Can/Lucas/Milner/
    Coutinho/Lallana or Firmino.
    Benteke

Chelsea to play well and lose the game, its been the case for the last few games.

Guessing our starting XI will be

    Begovic
    Zouma Cahill JT Azp
    Ramires Matic
    Willian Cesc Hazard
    Remy

Is zouma really the best FB option though.
    That is the real question.

The correct answer is no but the team I'd like to see and the team that will line out are totally different things. :o

Ain't that the truth. I'd go mad.

    Begovic
    Azp--Cahill--Zouma--Baba
    Cesc---Matic
    --Willian-Hazard-Kenedy--
    Remy

Fabregas is on a horrible streak of form, from a Liverpool perspective am hoping to see him continue it.

Talking of people who should be dropped from the Liverpool side I'd nearly say Coutinho has played himself onto the bench. Lets give Firmino a go.

    1-1. Predictably.

Can't see Liverpool winning, still pretty average

Chelsea can go level with Liverpool with a win. Dizzy heights

Can't see beyond a draw myself TBH. Have a feeling it will be tactical like the Manchester derby last week.

Can't see where there'll be many goals from either side.

Hope Chelsea win, expect Liverpool to win with at least one goal from Chelsea poorly defending a set piece.

5-5 in the game of the season with high paced attacking football and a few screamers of goals...........Nah,it'll be 0-0.

Chelsea to go 2-0 by 60 mins. Liverpool to pull one back.

    So Chelsea by one.

Hoping to see a Klopp win. He's a very likeable guy. The polar opposite to the other fella.

Chelsea to play well and win before losing to someone like Norwich or Bournemouth next week.

Have to like the home side here, perfect game for them to make a statement.

    3-0 liverpool

Liverpool don't win as they can't score goals, but are far more rigid than Chelsea at the min. Could be another draw.
Klopp is planning something though, whether it comes off or not only time will tell. Will try to do a Jose and nick it 0-1 .

With Benteke fit,I fancy Liverpool to nick it 2-1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Looking through that Chelsea squad United should try buy 2 or 3 in January, some of them are too good to be playing in the Championship

I'm going 2-1 result, could be either way

    Jose to get Klopped

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,510 ✭✭✭population

It's strange because with Rodgers in charge, this would have been the kind of game that Jose would look at with confidence to put the season back on track despite his misfiring team. However with Klopp in charge the mood is one of real uncertainty even though the Liverpool team is no different (perhaps even worse considering injuries) than it was with Rodgers at the helm.

I think it will be a Chelsea win though. It will be ugly as hell but I think they'll nick three points.

Chelsea have been so poor so far this season you have to figure eventually they will get it together. It could very well be this game.

I'm going to go with an ambitious 3-0 victory. Liverpool have no striker capable of scoring at the moment. A Coutinho pot shot is always a danger of course but apart from that? They arent a scoring threat really.

Hard to see where Chelsea will score 3 goals.
Last time they scored more than two was against Arsenal over a month ago.
Before that they managed to against Newcastle and Villa. I'm not even to go into the games we've lost!
(Sticking to EPL in the above)

    Looking forward to this.

It's a game with a huge narrative and I don't really care who wins.

Can't see Chelsea getting too much change out of Liverpool tbh. If I was betting I'd go for a sour enough 1-1 but I wouldn't be surprised to see a kick start to someone's season today. A win for either would be massive.

Actually the only hope I have is for misery on Jose so maybe throw an awful decision into that 1-1 to send him over the edge again.

Since the the QPR game in early May, Liverpool have only scored more than 1 goal once in all competitions, and that was against Villa over a month ago. I think ye are still better equipped to score than us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 568 ✭✭✭Tomagotchye

This will be 0-0 and the papers will run riot with more Mourinho antic and Klopp undermining, so the real result will be another loss for the average football fan sick of listening to that ****e

Klopp fairly confident, we dont even need a striker on the pitch to beat this lot.

Well playing with one hasn't done us a lot of good so far this season. No Origi even on the bench is interesting.
