A quick update on the race.

The race will be on 24 January 2016 at 12.00 Noon.

Licence has gone through the local approvals process and is gone to Athletics Ireland.

Online entry will be open soon.

Course, venue and weather will be the same as last year.

Race is slightly later in January this time so you have more time to get over the Christmas!!!

Planning has started and will shortly be getting into full swing.

Athletics Ireland Event Licence received (No. 16/012).

The race is a little later this year (24 1 2016 12.00 Noon) so you have a bit more time to recover from the Christmas activities.

The Race is now open for entry.

Here is a direct link to the entry page:

Have a look and give it a like to keep up to date

This is the fourth running of the race and is over the same course as previous years.

The race will be chip timed and there will be a race memento, goodie bag and of course plenty of food and drink afterwards to replenish those muscles.

Fairly. Bit of a drag up the N11 early on and a couple of bumps here and there iirc. I'll see if I have Garmin data.

    Edit: here ya go: http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/725026009/share/0?lang=English&t=1449787330598

Edit 2: My hr monitor obviously wasn't working for the first couple of kms; it's not that I was relaxed in the first quarter.

Looking forward to this. It was one of my most enjoyable races last year.

Just a few points for the race on Sunday:

    1) In the last few days the road surface on a few stretches has deteriorated (literally in the last few days). It will be signed on the day. Be mindful of it.

    2) We have a water station near the half way point. If you take a drink please use the containers provided for disposal if possible.

Thanks Podge. As usual a flawless race. And lids on cups at the water station! I didnt inhale a drop :)

Agreed it was a great race today well done. The markings on the road worked really well helping to avoid the potholes. The lids on the cups wee very good. I can't believe he's calling it the nippy sippy though. I presume it's meant to be nippy as in fast but it really sounds like slang for breast feeding.
