    Hi ,

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to change over from 8/12 to a 1070.

I have got hold of a new 1070 ver 3.1.

Can I use the battery backup from the 8/12 or is it different ?
Do I need to change the outside bell ?

I have a gsm p can that be used with the 1070.

I know the keypads are different but is it just a case of setting up the zones and rewiring to the new Alarm and installing the new Keypads.

Reason I need to update is that I have an extension and so need extra new doors and window sensors and the 8/12 is wired only, no wireless.

    Thanks
    Gary

Its straight forward to do. Just make sure you mark everything.
Pictures tell a thousand words as well :D
The GSM-P will not work with the newer software on the 10/70.
All sensors, back up battery plus the bells will work.

There is outputs on the 10/70 that can be used with the GSM-Q for controlling remote devices if thats what your looking to do.
Its simple to add wire free devices. You can also wire out of the devices so if you ever have issues with cables these can be used to complete a circuit.

The GSM is only used for SMS for me and wife's phone's to alert when alarm is going off that's all I'm using it for.

You can use a GSM-Q in place of this with the sim card.

I Can but isn't it in with the 1070 panel?. The beauty of the GSM-P was it was well out of the way so I got a better signal.

You can get a GSM-Q in a box also so relocating in a different area to the panel.
Handy for you as you have the cable in place already.
