Yeah what is the main event going to be in Cardiff and going forward on this tour? Kane vs Big Show. I'd want a refund.:P

Jaysus I just checked on twitter and Kane vs The Big Show IS in fact the new main event.:D It just sums up how badly they have build new talent.

Imagine the reaction if Sheamus had cashed in last night. Know it would only happen at a ppv but MITB is suppose to be anywhere anytime

Id say he could have strapped up and been thrown into a few tag matches. That main event would seriously piss alot of people off!

He won't be able to stand never mind wrestle. He's made a serious mess of his knee.

How much worse is the injury now due to him choosing to carry 330lbs of Kane across the ring? As Wade Keller said it could have only been a 3 month injury and due to that huge amount of weight he put on it could have made it significantly worse.

For those at the show did Rollins do any other moves after the power bomb through the table spot as from the short clips it looked like Kane kicked out of it.

Can't see it, they need something for the upper mid card and the Wyatts fit that perfectly. They're on their own story atm with Taker/Kane

Maybe reveal Stephanie as the real Sister Abigail? Like when Vince did his "It was me, Austin!" thing.

I thought the plan was for Sister Abigail to be Bo Dallas in makeup?

Is Bray not the top heel now unless you count HHH if he goes back in ring

Wyatts have taken Kane and Taker, WWE could show some footage of them taking a Seth lookalike :p

Awful way for a title reign to end especially given how poorly he was booked. But he was always a face playing the heel role so his turn is done now for his return.

In regards to Seth handing the title over on Raw, does anyone remember when Edge tore his pec in 2007 and had a segment where he had to hand the title over to Teddy Long? That was an unbelievable promo, and it absolutely made him IMO, and he was an even better heel when he returned a few months later. I'm hoping Seth has a similar moment on Monday, I like his promos but there's no bite in them, you can tell they're carefully worded and scripted. I'd love to see him tear into everyone on Monday and shoot to an extent, he'll be huge when he comes back.

So the injury was really Bray's fault since he was controlling Kane. How else could he have been in the match?

Could we get another attempt at pushing Cesaro? Could be in the tournament at least. Guessing him, Owens, Ryback, Ambrose, Reigns, Bray, Ziggler, Barrett/Sheamus and Del Rio.

People keep saying Del Rio is a heel but I thought he was meant to be a face?

If it's a fatal four way for the title I'd go with reigns, Ambrose, Orton and a returing Cena with Cena winning and then sheamus cashing in

Orton is out for months as well if I'm not mistaken. That's what makes the Rollins injury such a blow, especially with Cena taking time off. I wouldn't be surprised if Cena returns sooner than was planned. Another option is to bring Finn Balor up.

A real shame about Rollins though as I was interested in his match with Reigns.

Playing the fantasy booker, what I think might happen now is that Reigns will win the tournament at Survivor Series. There will be pyro, confetti, etc. Then his friend Ambrose will come down, hug him, raise his hand - and then lay him out. He beats on him and beats on him and finally leaves...cue the Sheamus cash-in who ultimately walks out as the champion.

If Bryan isn't passing their medical clearance criteria, there's no way in hell that Angle is.

Here's who I can come up with of guys who could possibly get clearance and they might view as being big enough to plug a gap:
Batista (why is he never getting mentioned at all anymore?)
    Jeff
    Mysterio
Lesnar (presumably would cost an absolute fortune though)
    Del Rio
    RVD
    Jericho
    Goldberg
    Shawn Michaels

On the upside for Rollins, there was a fair chance the next few months were going to result in him being knocked down the card a fair bit and his run as champion didn't do much to consolidate his stature as a top guy. Considering how much they depended on him to fill up TV time, this could really work out in his favour in the long term.

I think nobody is discussing Batista is because nobody thinks it is that realistic, he must be swimming in money after Bond, why would he bother going back to the E?

Jericho and RVD aren't worth anything anymore, Del Rio zzzzzzz, although the others I could see the appeal of, even if some are more realistic than others.:)

Doesn't really suit their gimmick either, last thing Bray needs is to be Steph's lapdog.

Isn't he still contractually bound to the WWE to some degree? Doubt he's swimming in money but he'd definitely be doing well enough that WWE would be foolish to use him to plug a gap, but returning to help make Mania in Dallas a huge spectacle is surely possible.

They aren't, but I was trying to really scrape the barrel there, was contemplating including Lashley!

Batista was in one of the biggest movies of 2014 with GOTG and 2015 with Spectre and is signed up to the GOTG sequel. I'd say he'd consider himself too big for WWE right now.

Yes, as well as grown men's voices all across the world.

I'm sure he'll come back in a couple of years time. Nobody ever stays away, no matter how bitterly they left. He's only got one or two MMA fights in him at his age, and he could earn great money on a part time deal.

Batista doesnt need wwe, and i think he's alright for a few bob to, he was in guardians of the galaxy, he'll be in another guardians soon enough, then possibly avengers, and hes just done bond, plus if things are that bad, that they need Lashley, well then they are finished and vince should pack it in.

The Rock wasn't too big, and he's as A-list as they come. It doesn't make sense for Batista to return yet though, but he said in an interview last week he'd be very open to the idea of coming back just for house shows.

Read an interview the other day pretty much saying creative was crap when he came back and promises made to him were broken in his last run. He said if he was to come back hed like to do what jericho is doing and do house shows.

I'd like to see Owens join the Authority and become top heel with Balor coming up and maybe joining Kane and Undertaker against the Wyatts. A Reigns heel turn could work well if it was against Ambrose sinc Ambrose is over. but that's my opinion

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭A Brad Maddox Guy

They need to take advantage of this & have Triple H lay into Rollins on Monday; talk about Rollins letting him down, how he's clearly not cut out to be the face of WWE, how The Authority has had his replacement lined up for months waiting to strike etc etc. That way we go into Survivor Series knowing something major will happen, whether its a significant turn, return or debut, somebody is going to walk out of the show as the biggest heel in the company and I think people would tune in to see who & how.

Plus it would make Rollins' return feel huge as he has a score to settle with Triple H & the replacement, plus chasing the championship that he never lost. Terrible injury to happen, even worse timing but it could be the making of a babyface star in Rollins if WWE handle it well.

Also, has the title ever been vacated while Mr Money in the Bank still hadn't cashed in? Would like to see Sheamus argue that he should be champion by default since there's nobody to cash in on.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,821 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

Yeah first a Rollins face turn due to HHH tearing in to him verbally and then have Sheamus come out to cash in MITB on a crippled Rollins.. could get some nice heat for Sheamus if he's going to be champ.. have Sheamas continue to beat him down and bring Reigns out eventually for the save

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,281 ✭✭✭✭briany

A tournament at SS to crown a new champ? Why does this ring a bell?

Somebody at WWE get Duane Gill on the phone quicksmart.

He's injured afaik and also under contract to UFC and is also still going through his Bret Hart phase of sulking about being shafted by Vince and Hunter.

No, not under contract. His deal last year was extended for another PPV match - this was apparently facilitated by the Guardians of the Galaxy people who had been booked for PR.

I think you should watch this

Reigns as top heel would make sense now and meeting Brock at Mania.

Ambrose could be in the final against Reigns and get screwed by his best friend. While WWE will probably Di the opposite, the Ambrose kept backing up Reigns during the Wyatt feud he would get more sympathy if he was the one losing out.

If they keep Reigns face I would like to see him in the final against Owens, Sheamus cash in during the final as a throwback to Rollins winning the belt. Then Owens and Reigns fight over who gets to kill Sheamus eventually leading to a triple threat at the Rumble. It would be a good taster of a longer feud Owens and Reigns could have in the future.

Other than the rock he's already had more success on the big screen than pretty much any other wrestler! GotG is a huge franchise and James Bond speaks for itself.

If Cena hadn't buried so many wrestlers this wouldn't have been that much of a disaster as we would've had a lot more established stars but now I'm really not sure what they can do that won't be terrible. If they get in old timers the matches won't be any good and if they get in NXT people the character development won't be there.

WWE creative has buried wrestlers. Many of the matches that Cena has had with the likes of Owens or Rusev have been very good. He certainly hasn't tried to make anyone look bad in their losing to him.

Yeah, in fairness to Cena, it's not his fault that there is zero follow up to anyone he feuds with. Not even and follow up, nothing. It's what happens after people fight Cena is the main issue.

I was thinking that another option they could do, seeing as they are short on star power, would be to give Jericho a call. He tends to come back for Mania season anyway in some capacity so he might be open to that. I don't know what his schedule is, though.

Interview with Seth on WWE.COM. http://www.wwe.com/inside/seth-rollins-interviewed-about-knee-injury

WWE.COM: It has been a crazy few days for you, how are you feeling physically and emotionally?

ROLLINS: You know, overall, I think I’m in a pretty good spot. Physically, my knee doesn’t hurt. Like, one thing people don’t understand, a common question is, “How much pain are you in?” The ligaments don’t have nerve endings, so, that’s a good thing and a bad thing, but I don’t feel any pain, it’s just a lot of instability in the knee capsule. So, I’m doing a lot of compression to kind of reduce the swelling and stuff like that. Emotionally … could be better. Obviously it’s a tough spot to be in. I’m mostly just looking forward to getting the surgery done and getting better every day.

WWE.COM: If you could, walk us through the injury. How did it happen?

ROLLINS: Let’s see, we were in Dublin, Ireland, first night of the tour and I was in the main event. I was setting up to do something I’ve done a million times — flipping over my opponent while he was standing on the second [rope]. I landed underneath him and then picked him up for a Powerbomb. And for whatever reason, I just landed on the inside of my right foot, instead of flat with my feet and my knee gave. If you’ve seen the video, you know it looks pretty graphic. It didn’t feel as graphic though. It just felt like my knee dislocated and then kind of popped back in. So, I hustled back up and got underneath, made sure my feet were steady and delivered the Powerbomb. Then, I did a self-evaluation real quick to see what was going on. I realized my knee was pretty unstable and noticed that it felt like it was flopping around. I didn’t feel like I had a lot of control under it. I was able to move around enough to finish the match, hit a Pedigree and get the win. Afterwards, I just laid there and [tried to] figure out what was going on. Again, I wasn’t in a whole bunch of pain, I just felt like my knee wasn’t right. I wasn’t really sure of the extent of the damage until the next morning when I got the MRI.

WWE.COM: So, all of that considered, would you classify the injury as a freak accident?

ROLLINS: You know, it’s one of those things, that yeah, it’s a bit of a freak accident, but I was just talking to a friend of mine, who is a physical therapist and may be doing the work on my knee moving forward, and he kind of summed it up as a “complex accident,” as in, there are a lot of factors that led up to it and not just a freak thing, you know? And that’s just part of me going as hard as I have for as long as I have.

WWE.COM: Looking to the future, what are the next steps here in terms of recovery? You mentioned surgery is scheduled; will that be taking place in the coming days?

ROLLINS: Yeah, I head to Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday for a consultation on Monday and then Dr. Dugas will perform the surgery, which will basically be the reconstruction of my knee, on Tuesday. Then the journey begins and we start rebuilding the machine, if you will.

WWE.COM: Do you have a timetable on when you can begin rehabbing?

ROLLINS: Nowadays, rehab begins minimally the day and week of. Working on range of motion, working on stim machines, ice and getting inflammation down. So I’m going to be doing whatever I can as far as that’s concerned. We’ll see. You kinda gotta listen to your body and see what it gives you, but yeah, definitely as soon as I can get in there and start moving around.

WWE.COM: To transition, what do you see as the future of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Is there any Superstar you would like to see win it?

ROLLINS: No. You know, for me, over the last seven months I really put my stamp on that title as mine. I’ve defended it against literally everyone that has come at me and done it successfully, so for me to have to vacate the title like that, I’m not afraid of whatever happens at Survivor Series. Whoever happens to come out with the championship, as far as I’m concerned, they’re an interim champion and kind of just holding on to my title until I get back. They can look at it however they want, but for me, I’m the best and I’ve never lost my title. So, when I get back, I plan on picking up where I left off.

WWE.COM: Any thoughts for, or to, the WWE Universe as you begin this process?

ROLLINS: Well, you know, for someone who is as universally despised as I am, I was pretty overwhelmed with the amount of love that I received from all of the fans in the WWE Universe. All of the well wishes and, just in general, all the concern that everyone had for me as a person and as a performer. So, I don’t do this very often, but I would like to extend a thank you to them. Their support means a lot to me and it’s going to go a long way in my recovery and help me mentally get back to where I was at. So yeah, it’s very interesting to see how quickly people’s minds can change when it comes to something like that — it says a lot about the human condition. I'll be back stronger and better than I was before. That's a guarantee. You ain't see nothing yet.

Well I meant it as a figure of speech, though if it is to be believed he did play a big part in burying the Nexus, who had loads of potential. I'm sure there's others he refused to lose to aswell.

I'm not a Cena hater by any means, I like the guy. But WWE have messed up big time by not developing any other stars.
