ordered a memory card for my phone off amazon.co uk yesterday bought it for 12.29 pound and the P&P to ireland is 17.98 pound :eek::eek::eek:. worked out as 43.94 euro for a 32 GB memory card with SD Adapter. it better be worthwhile

Can you cancel it before its despatched. There are better prices than that in Argos.

Why on earth did you buy it at that price? Do you have something against local retailers who probably are cheaper even before delivery charge.

Sorry, no pity for you and as it is being sent from uk it certainly does not come under ripoff Ireland thread.

Even Halfords at €16.99 are cheaper.

As another poster said, this is not a case of rip-off Ireland, you ordered from a UK website. Amazon have free UK delivery if you spend more than about £25, it's crazy to spend less then that in one transaction because as you've found out, the P&P charge will be exorbitant relative to the value of what you're ordering.

If it hasn't been dispatched, cancel the order and buy that card from Argos, it's a special offer.

Had you used DPDs parcel wizard they would have delivered it to you for free (assuming uk postage was free and it was one of your first three delivery's with parcel wizard)

How is this 'rip off Ireland'. The charge was applied in the UK. A non-compulsory charge to which you agreed.

You'll have to send it back at your expense and they only need to refund the product cost, and not the delivery cost.

THere are thousands of cards on Amazon.co.uk which are sold by amazon or fulfilled by amazon which have free P&P when you spend over £25.

I did point out that it was a special offer, thanks for letting us know that it's no longer available.

This is no doubt a ripoff, although the Ripoff is not in Ireland. A SD card can be put in the regular post for a fraction of fee stated, so it does not represent the actual cost of P&P. However, it is also true to say that SD cards can be found in your local Argos, Tesco etc at reasonable prices.

Have you a link to this? it might have been cheaper to buy 2 and throw one away if you really just need 1. Sometime you get free delivery if it is just a little under £25

no wonder amazon are banning some customers who return a lot of stuff. I hate the way some people believe in all this "free" delivery and no hassle returns policies, it increases the cost for the people who do bother to think before buying.
