    Hi All,

    Just wonder if on every appointment in Coombe Hospital is making scan ?
    I have tomorrow 16 wks appointment and wonder if will have make scan also ?

    Possibly. I have often had a quick scan at 'check-up' appointments, not always though. I did have one of these scans at 16 weeks. Just a quick check where the doctor would take some measurements and monitor the heartbeat. This was just in one of the little rooms, near where you get your chart, rather than one of the ultrasound rooms where the two more important scans take place.

    I went semi private last time and had a little scan in the room with the doctor. It was an older machine and not the clearest but good enough to get a glimpse and for them to see that everything was as it should be.
    My 12 week scan, 20 week and 34 week scans all took place in the ultrasound department with a better scanner.

    I'm going private this time around and get a full proper scan at each appointment. I will still have the 20 week scan in the ultrasound department as it is a more detailed and specialised scan than the obstetrician is happy to do herself.

    Depends on if you're with the consultants team or the midwife team.
