What's the timescale for a transfer from another Irish Bank using electronic banking?

I was under the impression that an electronic transfer from outside of BOI should be in the recipient's account the following business day, but a transfer to me from a friend (his account has been debited) hasn't arrived in my account yet.

What information do I need from him to follow this up?

    Thanks

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

    Hi Irish Steve,

    Thanks for your post.

Your friend will need to contact their bank for their time frames of transfers. For example, when a transfer is made from Bank of Ireland to another Irish bank, it can take one working day as long as the transfer is made before 3.30pm on a working day. However your friends bank may have different cut-off times for transfers. Just ask for your friend to check that the transfer was made before the cut off time that his own bank applies.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Sarah
