    **** game, great result though.

    That'll do.

If bosnia are just as poor on Monday then I'll be fairly confident of a win

Excellent result for Ireland. Bosnia have to score at Lansdown, so perfectly setup for a limited Irish team simply defending and hoping to pick something up at a corner or freekick.

Im surprised how poor Bosnia are. This Irish team did a great job with so many missing players. I fancy us big time in Dublin

Bosnia are a poor side. I said it here when we drew them. It doesn't mean we'll go through tho.

Truth be told, most international European sides are very poor.

Nothing too much to worry about, happy with the result. Will still be tough on Monday, but could be worse.

"If you want to stop players like eh...Dzeko...Pjanic...you've got to stop them". Fantastic input Eamon

Was expecting it to end 0-0 so 1-1 is a better result.

Bosnia are no great shakes Bill.

    Scrap the cap!

It looked like dzeko hurt his groin near the end would be great if he is out.

It's going to be nerve wrecking Monday night. If it's finished 2-2 agg would Bosnia go through

Hard to enjoy the game with those conditions. Missed the two goals as a result. Meh. 1-1 is still the result I'd have taken at the beginning anyway. Always important to score first.

I think Randolph has been a good find the last few games. Has looked solid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,171 ✭✭✭Neamhshuntasach

I reckon we'll still be going for a 0-0. Same as if it finished 1-0 to us. Disappointing to concede the goal but were' still in a better position that i imagine most would have thought before the game.

He has been good but he should have done better for the goal. He was far too slow getting across the goal, why was he stuck to the post

Two poor teams but I think we have the edge, great result tonight.

Then one foggy Friday eve, Martin came to say,
Randolph with your shirt so bright, won't you play in goal tonight?! :D

Slow to react to the shot I thought could of made a couple of steps to the right when he seen the ball was squared to Dzeko, Dzeko didnt even put it in the corner.

Houlihan was very ordinary tonight yet Dunphy would choose him over Jon Walters who has been our best player throughout this campaign?.... Dear oh dear!

That's a great result. We are nearly there. Home and hosed on Monday. Won't be easy but if the Ireland team turns up we'll do this lot.

Rugby team is a good team that has underachieved, our soccer team is a moderately talented team that over achieves and deserves more credit than it gets. Monday night promises to be a great occasion with the Aviva rocking like it has never done before. Come on you boys in green.

He didn't say that at all, he said he would play the 2 of them.

3rd reference by Dunphy to "see the green shirts" - fog must have been even worse in the studio :)

Much better performance than against Poland. Bosnia where about the same as Poland in terms of how good they were against us, we just seem to play better when the expectations are low & pressure is of a bit. Very Good result just keep a clean sheet Monday & were there.

    Talking about Robbie Brady

Liam Brady "he's got a great name in fairness"

    Daragh Maloney "yeah, Robbie"

    :D

Darren used to go to the same school as me in Bray, he was 1 (or maybe 2 I forget) classes ahead of me. Even when he was around 8/9 we knew he'd be doing some sport for Ireland when he was older he was very athletic, he liked Basketball a lot.

Awww I missed that, would love to see Brady's (Liam) face after that. I hope you are recording it & uploading to Youtube or Porntube right now.

He's a goalkeeper not a brick wall. Dino Zoff himself wouldn't have saved that.

    Up Bray.

Credit to O Neill. Very professional performance.

Think draw was about fair result although Bosnia were slightly better, but not by lot.

It's slight advantage us now, but all to play for.

Given of ten years ago maybe

Credit where it's due. O'Neill's achievement in bringing us to the verge of qualification with a squad containing so many ordinary players is noteworthy.

Bosnia were rubbish we were rubbish. There is no way that Bosnian team will beat us in Dublin if they play like that again. Even tho we were also rubbish we are not as bad as that Bosnian team. Hopefully in the Aviva Ireland will go attack and go 1 nil up as I think if they do the Bosnian players will fall apart. They have two good players and that is it so we should not fear them coming to Dublin.

I say Ireland do a Turkey '99 - move the game to Donegal and don't give Bosnian TV the rights to broadcast the match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,597 ✭✭✭Ferris_Bueller

Great result, I think every Irish fan would have taken that before the game began, especially considering the amount of players we were missing. Not much to talk about really considering nobody could see what was going on in the second half, first half both teams were very poor. Bosnia are no better than we are and I'm confident of qualifying on Monday night. The pub I was in decided to turn off the sound in the second half so I might as well have been watching livescore, did anyone get booked for either team that will miss the second leg? Was worried McCarthy was going to get a booking for a foul in the last few minutes.

Brady took his goal well in fairness to him, Randolph also had a very good game although he could have done better for the goal possibly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,294 ✭✭✭tanko

We didn't have anyone booked and will have Walters back for the second leg. Don't think they had anyone booked either.

Missed the match due to work but will be watching on Monday. Great result and we have a big opportunity now. That was some fog though.

I'm very surprised McLean wasn't booked. He's too much of an reliability in these type of fixtures. I do like his attitude but not in games of such importance.

Very good result and before either match I'd have bitten your hand off for a score draw.
Pity about conceding and I think if John O'Shea is in the centre that ball is cut out before it gets to Dzeko.

The worrying thing is that once they were stung into action they cut us open with minimal errort. If they come at us with real purpose they have players that can inflict damage. Still think they are the better side out of two poor teams tbh.

This is rubbish to be fair. Do you think they were just sauntering around for the rest of the match, not bothered or something?

Jesus that was unexpected but ****in fair play to the lads. 0-1 would've been against the run of play tbf, so I think a 1-1 draw is pretty fair. The aul lad just got on to me before the match saying he got myself and him a ticket so I'm buzzin for it now
