Extremely rough here in south west Kerry, rain coming and going in short heavy bursts, wind is constant though, not sure how strong it is but it felt like the roof was going to blow off a while ago

My anemometer is slightly broken, gives the wind speed and all that, but seems stuck at N as the direction, the weather vane itself is showing a south westerly.
It changes for a split second to the correct direction, then back to N.

Wind reached a sustained 47km/hr,now settled in the 46s.
    Top gust 76km/hr.

Now to have a look at why wind direction is wrong...

As far as I see with Irish storms, you can't be sure until it is over.
Take storm Darwin, here in Kilkenny it was wasn't suppose to be very bad, when we were right in the middle of a top 5 storm ever recorded to hit the country, Met Eireann upgraded places like Kilkenny to red when it was too late, and local radio saying to stay indoors when parents were off trying to get their children home from school.
Not criticising Met Eireann, but it can be easy to under estimate, over estimate and it is the boy who cried wolf which would be dangerous for future events.

You dont see it on met eireann radar but if you want to see how heavy rain is in northwest you have to use raintoday

    Winds not too bad.
