I think if they are shutting their borders and imposing a state of emergency then pretty much any public gathering will be cancelled. But we'll see, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter if the game goes ahead.

It's not looking like anything (not just rugby) anywhere will go ahead tomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if no French team plays.

obviously it doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things but if there is multiple postponements then given the way the fixture list is up until the 6n its going to be difficult to reschedule games

I might be way out off here, but really if there is any travelling team and set of fans are able to empathise, to be sensitive, but also to understand the importance of moving on, it's ulster.

If anyone reading is going, Oyonnax are asking fans to arrive early and not to bring bags

They're right IMO. Too many security worries. The competition will sort itself out. First things first.

I wonder when they'll resechdule the games?

There isn't another free club weekend (in both Pro12 and Top14) until 5th Feb but that's the same weekend the 6N starts.

After that it's the 18th March which is another 6N weekend.

The only free weekend after that is one scheduled for the ERC QF's.

Hard to see any other option really. It's going to be unfair on some clubs, not just the French with cancelled fixtures today, but their opponents too.

At the London Irish/Agen match they observed a minutes silence and the French sang their anthem during it. Quite moving.

The Marseillaise is a terrific anthem - pity they couldn't put up the words on a big screen for people to join in at the start of the Saracens v Toulouse match.

Thats 2 or 3 passes from Farrell that have found terra firma in 8 minutes.

Saracens absolutely dominant here, 19-0 after 25 minutes. Only one try in that but they really have to be thinking BP here.

Toulouse not at the races at all yet. Have to wonder about their mental state.

Johnson yellow now. Toulouse just not with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Not sure about that. Sarries passed it back and weren't engaged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Saracens should have went to the corner again, definitely a bonus point for them here. Toulouse haven't shown anything yet, can't imagine they are in the right mental state for this match.

Yeah really doesn't look like they want to be there. In fairness near all of us would be the same in that situation. How come their game went ahead? The ulster one didn't.

Just the French home games called off.

This is a bit embarrassing. Toulouse at odds with themselves. Munster v Treviso is a poor game, mainly because of the conditions. Connacht have made my weekend so far!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,661 ✭✭✭Crimsonforce

Its funny , before the game, the commentators saying Toulouse will want to show the French strength this evening and show how they will get their anger out and show solidarity

Now there 27 -0 down, they are now saying there minds are not on the game.

Toulouse really needed to score there and didn't. I'd say they just want to go home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Ah that's harsh. Don't think any Sarries players were in control there. It was stripped.

It's easy to see how you can mix them up in fairness, they are both of a similar standard.

The provinces are lucky to be spared them!

Saracens BP would probably be bad for Ulster, it would be unlikely Toulouse will be this bad again when we play them.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,423 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Yes! No BP for either team. Well done Toulouse

Toulouse much better in the second half - prevented the TBP - fair play to them.

Northamption have their first try v Scarlets. JJ Hanrahan playing. Scarlets scrum is struggling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 161 ✭✭Triumvirate

Good and bad of Hanrahan in the early stages. Involved in the opening try and then a few minutes later tries a cross kick with nobody expecting it and gives Scarlets possession in space on halfway with nobody at home for his team.

Try has been disallowed too. BT commentators are raging. I think Poite is quite right - he generally gets these things right IMO.

He argued with Poite over it too - that was silly.

He couldn't have had any complaints if he was given a red card. It was a full force stamp on a player on the ground who was injured by it. Expect he'll get 3 weeks off (after reduction).
