Need to upgrade some advice please

I have 400 to spend on a new mobo bundle.

I'd like an i5 preferably and a mobo that has 4 ram slots and just 1 stick of 8gb to start with.

I already have a 600W cx corsair, r9 270x 4gb and all the usual gear.

Be using it for gaming mostly. thanks.

ASFAIK, most shops only sell kits , 2x4 2x8 etc.This is just an example but in that price range, it may be better just to get 2x8GB since DDR3 is currently price worthy.

Keep the PSU and R9 of course, sell your 4 GB and old board , cpu ? Using extra € to up the CPU or Board, or for e.g keep it if compatible with the new board until you can get more, saving more €? Whats your current config ? Here a just a quick example for a socket 1150:

the sterling conversion is fairly awful. someone sent me this its looks great value and the i5 is way up there in power.

Just buy the items seperately. Those bundles are always crap value.

And of course you can buy a single 8Gb stick! That budget is more than enough for an i5-4460, H97, and 8GB of ram with cash left over. You could invest in a 'k' model but in your case the extra cash would be better put towards a new graphics card down the line.

Ill take the i5 from there alright but the ddr 4 is only 2x4 and it makes the mobo very expensive.

Go for a Z97 if you're getting that CPU

As per the_sycos links, Komplett won't get you any sork of Z97 for €67 in that case you're better off going for an i5 4460 or 4440 with a B85 board

seriously though, go with a mem kit, instruction sets address everything these days through dual or quad channels depending on spec, everything to gain and nothing to lose.

not too bad play around with their shops, alternate.eu. I wouldnt recommend the sterling prices as mentioned above. Furthermore never had an issue with them, excellent customer service and return policy.
