Anyone able to offer any insight on which is best for the treatment of acne scarring? I thought Microdermabrasion was the way to go but upon some google research, I'm reading a glycolic peel might be the way forward.

Anyone have any opinions on either of these treatments, or any alternative ones that they found effective?

Some recommendations for Cork clinics offering these treatments would be fab too. TIA :o

It all depends on the type of scarring:

    Depressed/pitted

    Rolling

    Box

    Ice-Pick

    Hypertrophic

and also the colour - are they darker or lighter than your skin tone

There are many modalities available, glycolic works on the very top layers. TCA and or a Derma-Roller are more effective at filling in deeper scars.

You could try with some topicals like Scar Esthetique/Mederma and see if that helps.

Whatever you do, do not attend a "laser clinic" there are unregulated in Ireland. If you are thinking Fraxel / Co2 laser attend a consultant dermatologist.

Visit Acne.org - it's an awesome resource for all things acne related.
