There is an issue with role permissions that is being worked on at the moment.
If you are having trouble with access or permissions on regional forums please post here to get access: https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058365403/you-do-not-have-permission-for-that#latest

Received penalty notice from Garda. . But is this fair?

Well well. . . Going snooping through my posts rather than deal with the issue.

Lol, amazing. You continue bitching about getting caught in a buslane rather than dealing with the issue. Giving your ignorance to irony you can't be an English teacher.

Our education system is ****ed if people like you are employed in it.

As I told you earlier take it to court and let us know how you got on.
I personally think the Judge might listen to you if you were only 10 metres from the turn off when you pulled into the bus lane.
Slagging off another profession for doing their job won't win you many friends and you are letting yourself down by doing it.

I had permission to be in the bus lane as I was taking a left turn.

    Fair enough.

When I was a child I was assaulted by an adult with witnesses present. Statements were given to the police.
The police did nothing. No charges.
They did nothing because they were drinking buddies of the thug.
Long time ago but I never forgot it.

That's just personal experience. . . We all carry our own crosses.

Thank God you have no contact with my kids.

    By all means do so.

Morale is at an all time low for all public sector workers, including Gardai, so I'm very much not on my own.

No snooping needed. Anyone posting in the teaching and learning forum would be familiar with you.

I didn't witness your incident and as a teacher of history, one would never be happy to merely accept a one sided and possibly biased account of an event.
What I do know from your posts is that you are not a shrinking violet, and I would like to hear the Garda's point of view on this incident before passing judgement.
As to my earlier statement, am I not correct in stating that you can't reveal your workplace as you would be easily identifiable as the former shop steward that left the ASTI.

I merely pointed out to another poster why you couldn't reveal you're place of work.
Where I work is irrelevant to this whole thread. I never asked where you work.

So you expect me to reveal my place of work but you won't reveal your own.

I couldn't care less about the ASTI.

Teacher hat on here. Alex we get a lot of stick from Joe public about short hours, time off, working a cushy number for great pay and no stress and a bad attitude to the private sector working man rubbish. Please stop giving "them" the proverbial stick to beat us with.

And on that note this teacher has paper work to do for the rest of the evening, adios amigos

Your level of comprehension astounds me
. I have not stated in any of my posts that you should reveal your name, but rather why it is you wouldn't want to reveal your place of work as this would make it relatively easy to identify you.

PS I'm off to the scratcher, nine classes tomorrow

Why should it surprise you that there is a lack of respect for a corrupt police force?

So you have an issue with corruption when you're not the beneficiary but piss and moan about the correct enforcement of the law when you break it.

Not unless there was a broken line all the way up to your turn.

Turns out it was more like 250m from the entrance and he was pi$$ed off queuing like ordinary plebs, I would be too. Still harsh though - must have been fairly shifting in the bus lane to attract the attention of the boys in blue.

He has bitched and moaned alot about work in teaching forums so he can't reveal his place of work!
Hardly important were he works. I have a fair idea as the description fits a nearby school where the bus stop would be 100m away maybe more. Parents constantly do what he does. Being convenient does make it right though.

Not any that I know. I enjoy my work, maybe you should consider something else. Plenty of motivated teachers waiting in the wings.

As little as that has to do with your current predicament, go to the Garda ombudsman, a different garda station, etc.
