    Hi guys

Just wondering how do I go about getting a credit rating or finding out how much I owe?

I was quite reckless in my late teens/early 20's with unpaid phone bills (usually dial up internet bills of which there quite a few unpaid ones).

I imagine there's a few old unpaid bank overdrafts too.

I just want to know where I stand, get stuff paid off and get back into the black again.

Also, once I settle up, is there a particular time frame that applies before I can be considered credit worthy again?

Like if I wanted to get a loan/mortgage/hire purchase or whatever else?

    Any help greatly appreciated

    There's multiple credit ratings

Your ICB rating is available for 6 quid. Bills don't appear on this (I'd imagine dialup bills are ancient history too) but bank debts and court judgements do.

Experian (http://www.experian.ie/about-us/my-credit-report.html) is a private credit rating agency on which can have bills and so on. This costs 6.35 to view

Get them and look at them to see what state they're in.

There are no hard and fast rules on when actual amounts still owed fall off reports, if ever; but marks from late but paid debt do drop off.
