Funniest Comedy

Listened to a poll on the radio the other day that listed Woody Allen's Annie Hall as the funniest movie. It's a good Woody Allen film, but hardly the one I'd watch to get a good laugh.

    Funniest movies for me:

Trading Places. The best Christmas comedy IMHO.

Stir Crazy. Gene Wilder and Richard Prior's best movie.

Return of the Pink Panther. Peter Sellers on top form, with Herbert Lom's hilarious descent into madness.

Airplane. Brilliant cast and rapid fire gags throughout.

    Life of Brian
    Holy Grail

They're about the only comedies I own on DVD that I rewatch a few times a year.

Big fan of Airplane and Naked Gun too, if I ever come across them on tv, I'll hang around that channel (normally forget to go back after a break) but I'll definitely need to add them to the collection.
I tend to like comedies but never really go back to view them repeatedly.

Trading Places is a classic. As is Life of Brian.

Have to throw in Anchorman for consideration too.

    Office Space , cult classic

A Night at the Roxbury, love this movie think it is very underrated

The Brady Bunch Movie, same as above.

King Pin , prefer this to Something about Mary

Old School never gets old for me
Step Brothers, I have seen about 30 times
Planes, Trains and Automobiles extremely funny with a lovely ending

My Cousin Vinny has my favourite joke of all time in it.

Don't think it's hard to work out which bit.

A Night at the Roxbury, love this movie think it is very underrated

I remember watching that thinking it was absolute muck at the beginning and thinking it was just brilliant by the end.

Spinal Tap gets my vote as well as Step Brothers - it gets better with each watch.
Bad Grandpa was one of the last ones to have me laughing out loud.
What We Do in the Shadows is another recent highlight.
Harold and Kumar get the Munchies
    The Big Lebowski
    Ferris Bueller's Day Off
    Blades of Glory
    Borat
    Zombieland
    Team America
    Tucker and Dale vs Evil

If you're watching comedies on Netflix, I'd recommend the 2 stand up shows by Bill Burr and the one by Louis CK.

    Withnail & I

I really didn't get the fuss about it when I first watched it but on subsequent viewings I found it very very funny.

For me, airplane... Just constant throwing the gags out, one liners and visual, the works. Never really let's up the entire length. Pretty much all hitting the mark imo.

"oh, it's all right dear, I talk jive"

Anchorman - definitely has to be on that list

    Airplane of course too

The Pink Panther Movies are excellent also

3 of my personal favourites are Hot Shots, Top Secret and Blazing Saddles.

there are so many more that could go on this list

I like the first American Pie film, thought it was a brilliant concept.

I also liked Old School with Will Ferrell .

Thanksgiving and Christmas are two very different things. Thanksgiving is as big in the States as Paddys day is here.

Very well written and acted, corny as hell at times, but it's a fantastic show none the less. Some fantastic characters in it, you'll finish an episode with a smile on your face more often than not.

I'd defo put Annie Hall at No. 1, masterpiece.

I remember an entire cinema losing their minds laughing at team america, i enjoy all the trivia too such as the movie exec shouting "they f***ed us" after watching the intro crap puppet scene....and the trees in the panama scene were actual weed!
