are wrecking my head. I'm totally buying in the wrong season but I can't find anything I like that isn't 350 euro or worse in sterling. I've been really happy to pay for everything so far but I'm feeling that bridal shoes are the biggest mark up I've seen yet.

Has anyone seen any nice ones in cream or white that don't look like they are made of plastic?

I found the shoe shopping really frustrating too.. I was looking for white ones for the bridesmaids and ended up getting dusty pink ones.. Nine west are quite good for shoes a little but more expensive but they had the ones to suit..

Korkys or Shu were good too if you take a look online.. I got a paid of cream kinda wedge soled ones with roses on them not very wedding shoe but pretty..China blue online also they are based in Dublin have lots

I got mine in Nine West. They were just a flesh coloured court shoe - standard design. I was lucky as managed to get them on sale in Manchester Airport when flying back from a meeting, sor something like £40 sterling. But even full price, you're probably only talking in and around €100/€120. Definitely a big difference from €350!

Debenhams? I think something like this is gorgeous.

They have tonnes of options anyway: http://www.debenhams.ie/women/shoes-boots/bridal-shoes

I got mine in dune, they are gorgeous gold glitter point toe ones, I wanted something I'd wear again.

I Don't see the point in paying a fortune for stink bridal shoes that won't even be seen.

After extensive shopping I got these:
    http://www.lkbennett.com/Collections/Shoes/Court-Shoes/Minu-Glitter-Knit-Court/p/SCMINUGLITTERKNITGoldSoft%20Gold?show=All

Not cheap but not 350 either. I've even worn them a few times since. They work well as a neutral going out shoe and the kitten heel made them very comfy. There are variations too - higher heels and rounder toes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,652 ✭✭✭✭fits

^Mine were lk bennett gold sandals. I wore them lots on the honeymoon.

I got mine online from Elegant Steps. Bit wary of buying online but they are fab and a perfect fit!

I got Rainbow Club shoes, they were about €100 but so so comfy for the day. They will dye them afterwards in your choice of colour so you can use them normally.

Is there not a page on facebook for wedding gear for sale (only worn once:p).?
Maybe you could have a look

Nope they were cheaper than the bridesmaid. As in these were less than €30 and the bridesmaids were €90 haha..

Just looking at them now I feel like going home wearing them tonight while knitting :).. They are so much fun to wear and they only have a small heel. I am not a heel wearer and I managed to keep them on all night..

I got them in Korkys, it looks like they still have them online they do indeed €25 eur http://www.korkys.ie/silver-sparkle-mid-heel-caj320-sil

You can order online, I have used them and they are great

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,000 ✭✭✭andreac

Milly im the same. I literally cannot wear much higher than that heel or im pain. I have a small bunion on my right foot so i really cant wear heels that have my foot at a big angle or im in bits. So heels like these are fab. Bargain too at 25euro. Im not really a shoe person so i couldnt justify paying big money for shoes, even for my wedding lol.

Your shoes are gorgeous ladies but I don't want sparkles which is actually the problem as its the big thing for Christmas.

Debenhams haven't anything I like. I like Jenny Packham but I've heard bad things about their quality. They fall apart quite easily.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,657 ✭✭✭Milly33

Oh no i suppose white is kinda out of season now, mind even looking for them during the summer was a nightmare.. The moderne online has some but you would have to ring for prices...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 598 ✭✭✭westernlass

I think I'll wait until February and get them last minute. There's a couple of good suggestions in this thread though so I'll have a look later.

I'll have a look on ebay too as I'm really not that fussed about them. they will be seen with my dress though as there's a slit up the front.

I do, I will pm you.

(they actually werent what I ordered, I ordered ivory and got cream, and kept them anyway, and never wore them....)

Try yoox.com. Sort by price and then filter size and colour otherwise you could spend three days going through the selection.

Edit: I got some leather shoes from Marian and I think they were well priced for quality.

I wish I'd known about Irregular Choice before I got married. I've bought 4 pairs of shoes and boots since. I would have loved to have worn their wedding Meeow boots, but I've bought them in black since. So unusual but so comfy!

I'm planning on getting the Kiara ones. :)
I've read that they can run a bit small though so I think I'm going to order a half size up (I have slightly broad feet).

They have the option of international shipping on their website but shipping and taxes came to about €150 when I checked. However one of my bridesmaids lives in Boston so I'm getting them delivered to her, and she's kindly bringing them over when she's home for Christmas 😊

I wore a pair of LK Bennett patent nude heels. I think they were the Shiloh ones. They were a great purchase and were great to wear for the day. My feet didn't give up until 5am on the night/morning of my wedding.
I've since purchased them in navy and black too.

I wore Starry Eyed from Rainbow Club, I adore them!!

    7ebee96d254b282b0dbc2b7f6798dedc.jpg

I had a tea length dress so I knew I wanted something flashy and relatively high. I had wedding converse to change into for dancing but I lasted longer in the heels than I anticipated. They were surprisingly comfortable for their height and I'm definitely going to wear them again.

Planning to wear LKB Shilos also, ones I already have (a neutral snakeskin) since the Shilo is discontinued and the Stila (replacement) is only about 5% differnet but does not suit me at all. Annoying. Some of the wedding shoes are so pretty tho! I am tempted...

Anyone have a recommendation for comfortable wedges? They have to be high as i dont want my dress dragging on the dance floor.

Loving the rainbow club website. I've seen a few pairs that could be runners for me. Does anyone know if house of fraser has them in Dundrum? Would love to try a few on.

If anyone is ordering online, can I recommend Next!

They were fab with my wedding shoes....ordered a pair on Sunday night, got them Monday lunchtime but got a 7 that were too big so I double checked and Next do half sizes (I'm a 6.5!) Went back online and ordered a 6.5 and 18 hours later I have them on my feet!!

I can return the 7 to a store in the next couple of weeks. Fab service and free delivery too!!

I got shoes from the Pink Paradox range. Very weddingy but they suited my dress very well and as I have dodgy feet I needed comfortable shoes that wouldn't fall off. (I can't wear slip on high heels - my shoes need to have a strap or laces!) This is one of the ranges that can be dyed to suit a dress. Kind of like the Rainbow Club ones. I found them very comfortable. The Rainbow Club ones weren't bad either. Think my shoes were around €100. Maybe a bit more.

As regards the wedding shoe ranges I found that most shops in Dublin either don't stock them at all or stock a very limited range. So they might have the shoe you like but not your size. So it's hard to make a decision. Debenhams was probably the shop with the best range in the shop itself, rather than having to try on shoes that were two sizes too big and trying to imagine what they would be like if they were the correct size. Cinders also had a decent range. Most shops I visited seemed to have given up on stocking wedding shoes as they weren't selling for them.

I ended up buying mine online. They weren't perfect, but with an insole or two they were really comfy on the day.

Good luck to all with the shoe shopping!

Not sure if these are high enough for you (8.5 cm) but they are the shoes I wore and were pretty comfortable

I wore a pair od Dune wedges for dancind. THey were half an inch higher than my wedding shoes so the dress was off the floor for dancing. i wore these http://www.lyst.com/shoes/dune-giddy-d-slingback-wedge-sandals-nude-2/

Dune have a good range of neutral wedges http://www.dunelondon.com/en-ie/ladies-wedge-sandals-dept3004/#filterkey=colour&colour=neutral

I haven't seen them in there. I had rainbow club also for my wedding, but they were bought from the store where I got my dress, I saw my shoe in the display cabinet, and knew it was for me (a converse style with ribbons for laces) the dying service is great, they matched my dress exactly, and same with the bridesmaids :)

Thanks for your input :) I like the Pia alot too! I will try them on. I am in two minds actually about them or Jimmy Choos! I love them.. and I tried on a few pairs but I was worried about the sole being suede.. & them getting ruined easily.. How did you find they wore?? Which ones did you buy? :D
