Really need a good dentist. Have not had the greatest of experiences with them over the past wile and urgently need to find one in the general area of Dublin 15. Will travel if it means it's a good dentist. So if I could get an idea of where people have had a good experience with. Any help is much appreciated.

My orthodontist today recommended Village Dental on Church Avenue. Haven't been there myself so can't vouch for them!

If you're willing to travel into town, go to Portobello Dental on SCR. I go to Dr. Helen Walsh there, she is great. They have won lots of awards too. Check out their website.

Have all your others dentists been bad then? Maybe it's not the dentist?

As long as you follow the aftercare the dentist suggests you should be ok

Never smoke after an extraction,or any dental work.

Salty water rinsing is very much suggested.

It's actually not for me it's my other half but he's been to one that just wants to pull every tooth out and the other was having issues hurting him with the injections and couldn't get him numb he was in pain for ages after tried doing a root canal when he could still feel it and ended up doin another injection straight down into his nerve let's just say he wasn't happy about it the dentist didn't seem to have a clue tbh. Even the after care was a joke so he's kinda scared to trust someone else which I don't blame him.

Thanks everyone nice to get some idea of good places will need to make an appointment soon he wouldn't go back after the last fella he's half a root canal done atm and other issues need attention asap

My wife also had a lot of bad experiences with dentists. She recently went to O'Donovan Dentist on Griffiths avenue to have her wisdom teeth removed as they were recommended by a friend. Top marks. The dentist was great and she would definately recommend them. Great reviews on line also.

I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like your partner needs serious work done. Best of luck, but make sure they see it through, as it's very serious not to in the long run.

I had a horrible root canal experience from a brutal dentist before, has put the fear of god into me when I need to go now. I had a second root canal done about 6 months ago by Dr Teresa Lynn in the plaza dental practice in blanch village. She explained everything, was very patient and thourogh, she specialises in root canal and endodontics. Their website is www.theplazadentalpractice.ie.

I was very impressed with Village Dental. I'm not a fan of the dentist and hadn't been in a good while when I went to them so I wasn't looking forward to it at all. He was super reassuring and made me feel very at ease. I did need one filling but he gave me a decent dose of anaesthetic (or maybe he just told me he was going to do that to make me feel better!) and it was fine. I'd highly recommend it.
