    Hi,

This might sound odd request but a family member is near end of life with just a few days left. We are trying to locate a small venue for after her cremation for close friends and family to celebrate her life after her cremation.

So, she has led a very alternative lifestyle, so the place needs to be quite unique.

    Preferrably
    By or near water
In east cork area, or close to ringaskoddy crematorium
Not a pub, restaurant, it will be self catered, amendment would turn in her urn if we held an event like this in a pub.
Hold about fifty to sixty people.

    Available at short notice

    Really apppreciate some suggestions.

Might be helpful for other posters if you could be a bit more specific on location - Most of East Cork & Ringaskiddy wouldn't really be close, if driving (very close, as the crow flies, but quite a drive by road). The city, Monkstown and Crosshaven areas may be more what you have in mind ?

    Sorry,

Location wise, there are a few things

The crematorium is in ringaskiddy, so anywhere withing about thirty mins travelling time would be worth looking st.

Cobh, carrigtwhohikl, east cork in general up to about nidleton would probably work, as the car ferry can be used to get over to Cobh.

She lives near ovens, so it wouldn't be out of place to head back in that direction either after the cremation

Carrigaline GAA Club ? Not sure if it's near enough water for you.

    Thanks.

I suppose a gaa club would be very alien to her, so not sure if that would work.

We were or are looking for something along the lines of this

Ah, ok. Personally can't help but hopefully someone can. Good luck and sympathies to her family and friends at this time.

Not sure how helpfull this'll be... the national rowing centre in farran woods is kitted out for functions ( no bar ) ,
But dont know if it's open to the public..
The old city water works is a fantastic location ( got married there)... google it ... looks down over the lee fields..

This might suit, its west direction though - but only about 10 mins from Ovens heading towards Macroom.
