    Ha ha only 39 secs out. The course broke me in two on Monday and initially never wanted to see it again but now I'm thinking maybe some day will give it a go again!!

    He looks a bit like my better-looking, cooler cousin, you weren't a million miles off. ;)

    I never get good race pictures, but at the risk of posting it one time too many, I still get a good laugh out of this (I'm not the guy in blue shorts). :pac:

    Actually, now that I look at it some more, maybe I AM that guy in the blue singlet.

    That's interesting -- feels odd as I was going backwards through Wave 3 for the whole race, which added to the gloom. Didn't notice many stragglers from the earlier waves but I suppose the time separation accounted for most of that. Obviously people targeting 3:30-ish and above had a better time of it than the rest.

    32500 bibs
    26639 finishers

    difference down to no shows although some DNF in there - there's also a discontinuance in the bib numbers between waves

    assuming an even distribution across the field an adjusted target would be c. 80% of your bib number

    you still were ahead of that (I wasn't) but it helps explain the size of the gap

    In all photos I've seen I'm surrounded by much higher bib Nos. That's all The evidence I need for what was really going on. ;)
