Did the ref reverse the penalty that led to the Cardiff try? Why? Was there afters? I missed it.I just saw the replay of the Cardiff player taking the Connaught player out.

Didn't look forward in any way. I don't like whining about refereeing so I'll just keep my mouth shut going forward I think.

Even the BBC Wales guys are whining about him.

Very very hard without a SH. Porter was having a good game.

We've lost all our shape which is unsurprising given the injuries, need a bit of individual brilliance to win this

Really coming off second best in the refs decisions ever since half-time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,245 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

    Bundee is phenomenal

Well there's another questionable call from the ref, but in Connacht's favour!

    3 points Jack Carty.

So Connacth get a scrum ATH with a 19 year old in the front row.

  • Registered Users Posts: 663 ✭✭✭Funk It

    Aki is a beast!

O'Donnell doing very well in the scrums.

    C'mon Connacht, big finish needed.

Muldoon not happy there. Not sure the onfield bollocking was the best choice of leadership tho...

Looks like ball was lost right on the line there. Dammit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Big scrum here for Connacht. Repeat and rinse from last one please.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

For me that was held up before knocked on. Or else it was holding on. But if it's over the line it's held up, scrum green ball.

this ref is a disgrace, or else needs glasses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,910 ✭✭✭yosser hughes

    That's nonsense by the ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Travesty! Ref is a prat for that. And that's what the Welsh guys on BBC are saying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,424 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

This ref hasn't a scooby. Arm clearly wrapped around his leg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

No arms? WTF was that around the Cardiff player's leg then???

  • Registered Users Posts: 663 ✭✭✭Funk It

Joke of a ref. Didn't want to complain about him, but this is another farce in Cardiff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,289 ✭✭✭MayoForSam

Ref is a muppet, even BBC lads are amazed at that decision.

yeah they are not impressed at all. thats the single worst decision ive ever seen in rugby. he wrapped his arm around his leg and its crystal clear. thats the 2nd or 3rd really dreadful call against connacht tonight

  • Registered Users Posts: 441 ✭✭hogandrew

Worst ref I've seen in a long time. Disgrace

  • Registered Users Posts: 663 ✭✭✭Funk It

Biggest robbery is Aki not winning Man of the Match!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Eh.... What? He clearly wrapped his arms? The guy is a tiny fly half getting run over by an 8, what else is he supposed to do? Ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    And there's another strange call.....in Connacht's favour. It's random.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,536 ✭✭✭case885

Is Connolly a natural openside? Hes been great over the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,424 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

That should be that. A bonus point given the injuries and this ref is not the worst I guess. Another farce in Cardiff though.

No abuse of refs or players tolerated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Balls. Deserved more from that game, especially with all the injuries and bad decisions. Hopefully injuries are not too serious. Feck the Challenge Cup, give lads a rest next 2 weeks and go again for the interpros

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Cardiff really do try everything to lose games. Poor side. Connacht pretty unfortunate there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

Another disastrous night for injuries. I'll take the point though I think we could easily have come away with 4. Robb, Connolly, Aki all had huge games tonight and fair play to the O'Donnell and Bealham coming off the bench who gave us a period of dominance in the scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,300 ✭✭✭freyners

I read on twitter (tg4 went down) there was a load of knock ons by us so we goosed ourselves as well it seems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,424 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Should have been further ahead at half time really. Numerous breaks but kept knocking on and losing possession inside the Cardiff 22. Lost a bit of shape with all the injuries.

Loosing a tight game we could / should have won. Dodgy ref decisions, lots of knock - ons, a heap of injuries. Normal service resumes.

One of ours, in his 6th pro game ever.

I'd say it's sixth game ever never mind pro, good god he was horrific and whoever was tmo was as bad. The ref should be back to junior club rugby at best

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

I'm gutted for Connacht. Very hard when you get so many injuries and particularly when you lose BOTH your scrum halves, and to come away with a losing bonus point is not much consolation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,191 ✭✭✭seanin4711

knock ons at critical times cost us.
Cardiff are poor and we should have been well out of sight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,300 ✭✭✭freyners

Refereeing, from here and elsewhere, seemed pretty inconsistent and down right abysmal in places. Lots of bad luck combined on a night with the injuries, poor form and luck just not being with us. How we approach the newscastle games will be interesting
