Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think Bundee Griffin probably has a better balance to it than Robb Bundee, even though they showed last season they can be very effective together. Bundee & Robb are both best at 12 and Griffin is a natural 13.

That Joe article is excellent - surprising as it comes from a website and a journalist that I wouldn't normally have much time for but, credit where it is due, a great piece.

Delighted we got the lads back as it's going to be a tough game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

Stronger then expected, with Marmion, Utlan, Finlay, Healy
2nd row will be tested (Dillane/Qualter inexperienced, Dillane/Stevenson not much trained, only 4 weeks of pre-season since Montpellier)
Kelleher vs Hogg is the main worriness
Front-row, back-row are close to the best in Pro12. I'm pretty confident we should have the upper hand for midfield and wing too.
I'm pessimistic by nature, so it should be a good sign if I think we're favorite with that team. laughing.png
All will rely on scrum and quality of support in the ruck IMO. It depends which squad is better prepared...

Question : if O'Leary has to come in for Jack, who will provide cover for the back-three?

Griffin or possibly Blade to the wing i would presume.
    Hardly ideal but most likely.

For all the injuries, this is by no means a shabby team. I look forward to see Kelleher at fullback, Grif in the middle and think Jack is the right choice at outhalf. I would suggest that Shane is a better penalty kicker but more inclined to supply a risky pass. We have the ummph up front to match Glasgow so the need to be overly exciting across the back is not critical. If we build the phases well then the chances for the backline will come without forcing them

Anybody know where to collect the supporter pack tomorrow? Would it be the Elverys by the main stand or the actual office?

Buckley is back so I'd expect parity in the scrums and wouldn't be surprised if he nicked a couple penalties.

Have a spare tickets for the college road terrace behind the goal. Paid €22 but willing to part with for less. Pm me if interested.

I know, but the pressure to defend ball in hand is today

I expect so too. Support in the ruck is a classic Glasgow quality though, hope our back-row/Centres will be up for it, to have continuity in attack and slow down theirs

I'm not 100% but think he was unavailable due to the SA tour, could also be a precaution for the heavy knock he took down there too I guess!!

Scarlets v Munster is captivating, can't wait the two last hours now :D

Apparently he got bad blisters on his feet at the Ireland camp as well. Might be something to do with it. Although you would imagine they would be well healed

It feels like the wait has been forever. Probably because we just want to see more of this great rugby. If we could watch it daily, heaven.

According to commentators Glasgow elected to play with the wind, went in to the dressing room and when they came back out the direction of the wind had reversed!

    Shnakey western weather

Brilliant fullback covering play. Oi Joe, Denis Buckley at 15 for Ireland.

Glasgow defence going to be very hard to break down.

Glasgow making it difficult at the breakdown. Keep disrupting Connacht ball. Connacht not quite getting numbers there in time to clear.

Glasgow getting the ambition/pragmatism balance just right so far
