Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To be fair, Pat has a record for signing unknown or not very well known Kiwis who he sees potential in. A lot of his signings turn out to be great pieces of business too.

I was expecting a glut of high profile signings given all the players emailing Pat last season!

Well we'd love to take Sonny Bill too, and it was nice he wanted to come, but his agent and the NZRFU were really anal about money and international games, or some sh1t like that...

Sonny Bill also wanted time off to dedicate himself to a full time county hurling programme.

What's the score with the season ticket holder gift bags? Just pop into Elverys with your ticket and pick them up?

Yep, they ask you to select online which one you want to get it from but when you go in they don't seem to have a list. At least they didn't in the Headford rd one. They just check my season ticket and then put a mark on it

I like the look of that. Kelleher's looked great on the ball but is clearly not 100% at FB defensively with the way we cover it.

The midfield switcheroo was always on the cards as Griffin hasn't really looked at home either. Better to have Bundee looking for the ball off him rather than the other way around until they gel.

Plenty of firepower on the bench should we need it.

Interesting to see Kelleher ahead of Healy. I'm assuming that's just for this one given the opposition and not a sign of the pecking order?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,071 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

Browne back is huge as he was very good at filling in for Muldowney last season

I'd wonder if Aki at 13 is a nod to where we'll see him rest of season when Ronaldson and Robb become fit again and fill in at 12..

I'm guessing Player Welfare had a say
I mean Blade isn't ahead of Marmion and Stevenson isn't ahead of Dillane

With a bench like that there should be plenty of damage done in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,707 ✭✭✭BeardySi

Aye a hefty bench, clearly intended to aim for a strong finish. Just wish it was on the bloody telly... is it on GBFM?

You have my blessing, payday isn't here yet so I'll be abstaining from the bookies this weekend.

A bonus point win tomorrow sees us go 7th.
The Pro12 is going to be so tight this season.

Put 50 on toh to cross the line at 16/5 any time during game. Not bad odds. Ali g smokin hot bet ☺

Muldowney obviously has fond memories of his time at Connacht, I see on twitter he's gone to Italy to watch the match today!

Maybe now that he's been asked to take a 7% paycut he's thinking about moving back and is meeting up with Pat to agree terms.

This hangover is making me surprisingly optimistic :)

Sorry it's actually 3%, apparently the club is having some financial difficulties and could be in trouble let if they don't sort it out. Gain Mortimer reported it out Twitter a couple of days ago

    https://twitter.com/gavinmortimer7/status/776676293958139904

And apparently they've agreed to take the cut

There's a lot of pressure to get the win today. Should focus the minds. Would be great to get the 5 points.

Hopefully carty handles the early pressure, another shaky game will erode his confidence even further.

Try down already. This nightmare start could be about to get worse. Conversion missed.

    7 - 5 TOH nice try

Zebre straight down the fields for a converted one of their own.

At least some Connacht man will get something from this match. Defence is an absolute joke this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,673 ✭✭✭Borders no.2

Lads 3 tries for Zebre after 28 minutes. This has gone from bad to downright embarrassing.

Wake up Connacht. This is a very important game to win.

    19-10 to zebre. Wtf

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

22-10. This is a mental turnaround. What has gone right this season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,673 ✭✭✭Borders no.2

Rain lashing down apparently which will make it even tougher to turnover that deficit. Nightmare stuff. Dare I say even in mid- September but for me its 40 minutes to rescue the season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 888 ✭✭✭Cathalthesmart

Well, that's a new f-ing low. Dragons who are the worst team team in the pro12 by a mile (excluding Italian teams) kept Zebre try-less and now Zebre almost have a try bonus point before halftime.

would say 2nd half might be delayed if the fireworks (lightning) in the sky is anything to go by. its absolutely teeming down rain and connacht are trying to run from everywhere.

    Season ticket sales?

Can't think of anything else tbh... :o

zebre scored 11 points v dragons and ospreys in 160 minutes. Double that in 40 against connacht.

way things are looking this game could be abandoned

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,071 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

Big second half now, gotta get Marmion on the pitch though.
I like Blade but he been poor - we had a massive overlap at one point and he goes wide instead of going blindside, Muldoon wasn't happy

    Could do with Dillane too

Watching the lads being down 3 tries to 1 at HT to Zebre is rather uncomfortable viewing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

The rain looks biblical there. Delayed second half anyway I'd say...

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 259 ✭✭flogthebog

if game is abandoned is it replayed or what happens

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,071 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

Delayed for half an hour apparently

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,232 ✭✭✭DGRulz

If memory serves correct if it's abandoned before 60 mins is played I think it's replayed.

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭Adbrowne

just googled for the weather there and it looks like it will pass soon enough
